Summary
When Mr Thomas Tapley, a respectable but down-at-heel gentleman, is found bludgeoned to death in his sitting room, his neighbour Inspector Benjamin Ross of Scotland Yard rushes to the scene. Excellent
Excellently written with good plot twists, and very well read by the two readers who complement each other perfectly

Enjoyable characters but strange accent shift
Oddly, the male narrator has changed his voice for Lizzie. Instead of Derbyshire she’s now much posher. It’s weird and distracting because it’s not how he did her voice in the previous books, and in this book the female narrator still performs Lizzie with a Derbyshire accent. Otherwise, it’s great!

Decent crime story
I like these stories but really struggle with Maggie Mash’s narration. To me, all her characters sound like Barbara Windsor!
