Light and enjoyable.

"A Rare Interest in Corpses" is a light and relaxing murder mystery set in London in 1864. The main character's thought processes are a bit too modern at times for a supposedly Victorian woman, but that is just a small distraction in a decent and enjoyable story.

Well written, intriguing, excellent narrators. Accurate historical details. Good to discover a new author. Will be reading/listening to more.

Very enjoyable

I read few Ann Granger's novels. Lizzie and Ben Ross are my favourite characters. And I'm glad that it is the first book of the serie. the interview with the writer at the end, it's an extra.

Victorian era crime

I really enjoyed this. I listen to a lot of Victorian era stuff and thought this better than most. I thought the characters were good, with an interesting back story, that set them up nicely for more books to come. The narrators were both very good, it was quite nice to follow the story from both Lizzie Martin's and Det. Ben Ross' point of view. I will be definitely listening to the next in the series.

Victorian murder mystery

I enjoyed this book very much. It’s set in Victorian times with a new police force and the building of St Pancras station.

Not bad

Quite an entertaining story set against a Victorian background. l liked Lizzie's strong and sensible demeanor; however, I was disappointed towards the end when she uncharacteristically and carelessly gave away the information about the diary. I feel that that was inconsistent with her previous character.

Excellent murder mystery

This is my first from Ann Granger and I loved it. Engaging characters and a plausible plot which kept me guessing to the end. Intelligent fiction.
