About this listen
Random House presents the audiobook edition of Straight Outta Crawley, written and read by Romesh Ranganathan.
At the age of 9, Romesh Ranganathan delivered his first ever stand-up set at a Pontin's Holiday Camp talent competition, smashing the only other competitor, a young girl playing the kazoo.
The gig went so well that Romesh retired his comic genius for twenty two years, hiding behind the guise of a maths teacher, before finally revealing himself again (no, not like that) at the tender age of 31. In 2010, Ranganathan staged his epic comeback gig to an almost silent room, and has since gone on to earn his place as the most in-demand overweight vegan Sri Lankan comedian in Britain.
Now, for the first time, he tells the full story of how he got here. From the delights of Sri Lankan hospitality to the race riots of Crawley and the horrors of vegan cheese, this is Ranganathan's hilarious autobiography.

Romesh ❤️
Romesh’s book is absolutely brilliant. Funny. Moving. Insightful. I’d just assumed he’d walked in to being a stand up star, but he hadn’t. Inspiring stuff. Thanks, Rom!

Loved it!
Really enjoyed it! Love your humour on every day events. I live near ish to Crawley to & am a similar age so I can relate to bits from the younger years. Always looked forward to picking it up. Never stopped thinking when I could next read a bit more! Sad I've finished.

Decent memoir
Rob vs Romesh became the reason to delve further into Romesh the comedian as its excellent TV. Romesh writes and narrates well if it does get a bit repetitive with his notorious miserable outlook on everything. I know it’s his act and fair play to him there is a lot to laugh at with a great back story. Still, a decent book though I might hang back for his follow up.

Romesh rocks
I really like Romesh’s comedy . I downloaded this and it brings more the fact he’s reading it . It’s an interesting , funny , touching and downright sarcastic book . If you’ve ever seen him live , or on tv , the book is exactly the same , you know what you’re getting . Very good book and hope theres more to come . Poor Lisa !!! 😂

hilarious but feels too short
Absolutely hilarious and honest however feels like it ends rather abruptly and leaves you wanting more, like A LOT more.
