Hell Cats
Written by award-winning Carina Rodney and directed by Kate Saxon who has worked across theatre, television, video games, VR and film, Hell Cats is an adventure story based on the true stories of pirates Anne Bonny and Mary Read played by Erin Doherty and Michelle Fox.Wonderfully written and performed story of love and adventures on the high seas. Excellent.
- KevinGardnerIt’s a fast paced adventure about two feisty young women, from very different beginnings, who both want to escape the restrictions of being a woman in the 17th and 18th century. The story is written at a time known as the golden age of the pirates and our two gutsy girls take us on their exciting adventures living as pirate free men, defiant to all the rules of the day. Hell Cats being a fitting name for them, as they raised hell where ever they went.
- Sparkles
Slaving Away
Written and performed by Miranda Kane who draws on her experience of sex work to bring us this hilarious sitcom, there are three series of Slaving Away to enjoy.Loveable main character, witty story telling.. side characters who are brilliantly funny and supportive of Miranda!
- Cieli SmithThis series was so funny I didn't want it to end. I hope to hear a lot more from Miranda. Brilliant writing and performance. I'm so glad I found this. Its addictive. Love it.
- AliFantastic listen, funny and honest story telling. More relatable than you would think, while being laugh out loud funny and speaking positively and openly of sex workers.
- Hebe Ockenden.
Book Lovers
Playwright, scriptwriter, and filmmaker Jess Moore's Book Lovers is a full cast drama that takes us on a journey of heartbreak and adventure. What a truly amazing series! Funny, moving, tender ; I listened to it while running and actually made me snort out loud many times (alarming passersby) and also well up. It's a true feminist romance but also such a testament to female friendship.
- Polly CreedI thoroughly enjoyed this from start to finish. It was witty, sad and performed wonderfully.
- Annelie Greene
This will have you laughing and crying and all in the same five minutes. Jess Moore has ingeniously given us a delicious feast of beautifully complex real human beings as characters. We don't know what they are going to say or do next and this is so refreshing as a listener. - Lillian
Yes We Mustard
Author and comedian Ginny Hogan brings us a witty workplace satire drawing on her experience working in Silicon Valley.Ginny Hogan has been an impressive stand-up for a number of years now. Based on Yes We Mustard she is also a gifted playwright.
- Aidan J. McQuadeHilarious, smart, and relevant series. A must[ard] for anyone with an interest in or experience with tech/vegan condiment startup culture, for anyone who consumes health- or eco-conscious products, and for anyone who knows what it’s like to be a woman in the workplace. The egos of the male characters and the way they talk about/speak to their female colleagues is so spot on and so funny. The way these people who work at a condiment company think they are saving the world...

The female experience in Sour Hall
Lydia, Audible's commissioning editor for scripted content highlights how identity is explored in this recently released podcast: One of the many things I love about Sour Hall is the breadth and intersectionality of the female experience that it’s able to explore. Ash’s experience at Sour Hall in particular is informed by issues of queerness, Blackness, and fertility.
But what I really love is that while it explores these areas of womanhood that are often presented in terms of their challenges, the series also finds so much joy directly related to these identities. It turns the tropes we usually see for these groups and themes upside down in Laura Kirwan Ashman’s signature hopepunk style, which when applied to Horror is truly subversive.
Based on a short story written by Naomi Booth for Hag, a collection of forgotten folk lore, retold as feminist fables Sour Hall follows George and Ash, an interracial lesbian couple who move to an isolated farm high up on the Yorkshire moors. In this bleak setting the couple are tormented by a boggart determined to exacerbate the sources of their pain and gorge on their energy.
