野尻湖はいまでも国際的な避暑地として知られています。外国人の別荘が点在しているようです。作品の中に登場する「柏原」や「大久保村」も、実在する地名です。柏原はJR信州本線の黒姫駅近くの湖畔側の地名です。そこから湖畔に向かって数kmいきますと、大久保に着きます。さらに湖畔に向かいますと、別荘地となります。なお、野尻湖は別名「芙蓉湖」と呼ぶそうです。林芙美子の芙の字と重なっているような気がします。(C)2007 TOKYO FM & Appleway
