Cracking his most other-worldly case yet takes Felix on a whirlwind ride; from the bowels of New York City’s outer boroughs to the depraved heights of Manhattan society... and even has him dodging a possessed horde of scorpions in the Hamptons.

When a deadly drug floods the streets of Staten Island, one of Felix’s patients falls victim. The only woman with the skills to design a drug like that had sworn she’d given up the life. Felix needs know for sure. The trail to find her runs through a New York where taverns vanish, shoe salesmen ignore what you want and give you what you need, nightclubs take only bullion and refrigerator doors open into other worlds.
