La vita in un ospedale non è mai allegra, e lo sanno bene Neo, Sony, Hikari, Coeur e Sam, che ogni giorno devono fare i conti con malattie terribili e provano a ribellarsi a un destino già scritto, cercando uno spiraglio di luce anche nella più buia delle notti. Per loro, anche la conquista più banale accende la speranza di una vita normale. Ma è dando valore a ogni momento come se fosse l'ultimo che, nella difficoltà della loro condizione, si troveranno a scoprire la felicità, l'amicizia e l'amore in modo struggente e toccante.
