Black Rising is a novel by author Kevin Barron about Marcus Brooks, Zarida Johnson, and Lisa Banks, who are operatives of an organization called The Black Liberation Organization. The military wing of the BLO, which they belong to, has set out to enforce their own version of justice against those individuals and organizations who have gotten away with injustices against black people.

Collateral Consequences is a dramatic novel about three families, the Stevens', the Davis', and the Boyd's, and how they deal with the many challenges they face when their loved ones are incarcerated. It also tells of the support and lack of support the families receive and the abuses that happen in a broken prison system.

The Black Rising saga continues as US Government agencies pursue Black revolutionaries worldwide in response to the devastating insurgency in New York City on Black Solidarity Day by the Black Liberation Organization.
