Koren Bladewell now knows he is a wizard, but he is lost in the wilderness, cut off from help, and unable to use his powers. The enemy is poised at the border with an overwhelming invasion force, and it will take wizards, soldiers and a young, untested princess to hold off defeat long enough for Koren to be trained and grow into his power. Wesoła Banda Piratów jest w rozpaczliwej sytuacji. Skippy i pułkownik Joe Bishop przepadli bez wieści, maxolhxańska sztuczna inteligencja przejęła władzę na "Walkirii", a załoga "Latającego Holendra" musi jak najszybciej znaleźć sposób, by ocalić nie tylko siebie, ale również Ziemian niedawno uwolnionych z więzienia na planecie Rikers. Co gorsza, Maxolhxowie i Rindhalu zauważyli nietypowe zachowanie tuneli czasoprzestrzennych. Rozpoczynają wspólne śledztwo, które może doprowadzić ich do Ziemi. Los całej ludzkości staje pod znakiem zapytania.

Wesoła Banda Piratów ocaliła świat już kilkukrotnie, teraz jednak musi pogodzić się z tym, co nieuniknione. Ziemię czeka zagłada. Piratom pozostaje jedynie przetransportowanie kilku tysięcy Ziemian w bezpieczne miejsce, zanim kosmiczni najeźdźcy zniszczą ojczystą planetę ludzi. Choć to niezupełnie prawda. Pułkownik Joe Bishop i jego załoga mogą zrobić coś jeszcze. Zadać nieprzyjacielowi tak druzgocący cios, by pożałował, że kiedykolwiek usłyszał o Ziemi i jej mieszkańcach.

Walczyliśmy po złej stronie wojny, której nie mogliśmy wygrać. I to były te dobre wieści. Ruharowie uderzyli w Dzień Kolumba. Niewinnie dryfowaliśmy sobie na naszej błękitnej kropce, jak rdzenni mieszkańcy Ameryki w 1492 roku. Za horyzontem pojawiły się okręty technologicznie zaawansowanej, agresywnej kultury i BUM! Skończyły się stare, dobre czasy, kiedy tylko ludzie zabijali siebie nawzajem. Cóż, Dzień Kolumba. Pasuje.

Żołnierze słabnących Sił Ekspedycyjnych ONZ pozostawieni sami sobie na kontrolowanej przez obcych planecie Paradise dostają szansę, by dowieść swej wartości podczas prostej misji szkoleniowej w kosmosie, na pokładzie okrętu pełnego młodych ruharskich kadetów. Niestety podczas misji dochodzi do nieprzewidzianych, dramatycznych zdarzeń, a wszystkim mieszkańcom Paradise zaczyna grozić śmiertelne niebezpieczeństwo. Ostatnia nadzieja w Wesołej Bandzie Piratów. Jednak aby pospieszyć na ratunek, załoga „Latającego Holendra” musi najpierw sama uporać się z własnymi problemami...

Dann tauchten am Horizont Raumschiffe einer technisch überlegenen Spezies auf. Und–BAM!–war die gute alte Zeit vorbei. Jene Zeit, als wir Menschen uns nur gegenseitig töteten. Also Columbus Day–Kolumbustag. Das passt.

Teraz SEONZ znowu potrzebują pomocy Wesołej Bandy Piratów. "Holender” wylatuje na prostą misję rozpoznawczą... Jednak w przypadku piratów nic nigdy nie jest proste. Z pozoru łatwe zadanie przerodzi się w prawdziwy Armagedon.

Zasłużony w boju lotniskowiec Sił Ekspedycyjnych ONZ "Latający Holender" wraca wreszcie na Ziemię, po szeregu wyjątkowo udanych misji, dzięki którym po raz kolejny udało się ocalić świat. Teraz okręt wymaga naprawy, a załoga marzy o chwili wytchnienia od tajnych operacji i zmagań z zaciekłym, potężnym nieprzyjacielem. Czy marzenia się spełniają? W przypadku Wesołej Bandy Piratów – niekoniecznie.

Dowództwo SEONZ wysłało na prostą misję zwiadowczą elitarnych żołnierzy i pilotów, a ci wywołali wojnę domową między kosmitami. Teraz Niezbyt Wesoła Banda Piratów znów ma kłopoty. Ich wykradziony obcym okręt zaczyna się sypać tysiące lat świetlnych od domu, Skippy nie daje oznak życia, a nawet jeśli uda się go wskrzesić, starożytna SI może już nigdy nie być taka sama.
