夏目漱石の『こころ』は、『彼岸過迄』『行人』に続く、後期三部作の最後の作品。1914年（大正3年）4月から8月まで、『朝日新聞』で「心 先生の遺書」として連載され、同年9月に岩波書店より漱石自身の装丁で刊行された。

「下 先生と遺書」では、開封した遺書の中身が記されている。「先生」は両親を亡くし、遺産相続で揉めたのち故郷と決別して、大学生活を送っていた。

織田作之助の最高傑作で、何度も舞台や映画になりました。いまでも「聖地巡り」をする人が後をたちません。お金が良く出てきますが、この当時の百円は今の60万円と考えるとわかりやすいでしょう。

怖い話です。小酒井不木の作品ではないかと再確認してしまいました。しかし不木よりも怖いです。蒐集家は「手に入れたいものは命と引き換えでも手に入れたい」と言いますが、この話を聴くと男性蒐集家は命を差し出したほうがまし、という気持ちになるでしょう。怖いです。

乱歩自身が、桃源社版『江戸川乱歩全集』の「あとがき」で、「犯人の隠し方にはくふうをこらした跡が見える」と評している自信作。明智小五郎と助手の小林少年が、怪しげな洋館に暮らす資産家一家を襲う謎の怪人を追う、息もつかせぬ面白い作品です。

この作品が書かれたのは昭和12年前後。太宰治の実生活はこの作品の女性のような立場であった。他者から見放され、裏切られたという思いを持ちながら、小さな変化にささやかな喜びを見出し希望の光を感じたのは何かきっかけがあったのだろうか。この前後の太宰の作品も聴きたい。

ひとつの物語と思って聴き始めるとストーリーはなく、いろいろな話がメモ書きのように展開していきます。太宰治の作品の中でいちばん太宰らしさを感じる作品、という人も多くいます。短編ですのでお気軽に耳を傾けて下さい。
