Story
They say that diplomacy is a gentle art. That mastering it is a lifetime's work. But you do need a certain inclination in that direction. It's not something you can just pick up on the job. A few days ago Sam Vimes was a copper - an important copper, true - chief of police - but still, at his core, a policeman. But today he is an ambassador - to the mysterious, fat-rich country of Uberwald. Today, Sam Vimes is also a man on the run. At some point during his ambassadorship, things went very wrong. It's snowing. It's freezing.

Story
Sam Vines is a man on the run. Yesterday he was a duke, a chief of police, and the ambassador to the mysterious, fat-rich country of Uberwald. Now he has nothing but his native wit and the gloomy trousers of Uncle Vanya (don't ask). It's snowing. It's freezing. And if he can't make it through the forest to civilization, there's going to be a terrible war. But there are monsters on his trail. They're bright. They're fast. They're werewolves. And they're catching up.

Story
A new adventure takes Phileas Fogg and his companions to India. There, the British engineer Banks has created a mechanical masterpiece on behalf of the Maharajah: a powerful steam engine in the shape of a life-size elephant. Transported by this impressive machine, our heroes set off on a journey through the depths of the Indian jungle. But not only wild animals lurk in the thicket, but also the ghosts of the past. For the English officer Munro, it is his nemesis from the days of the expeditionary force. And for our heroes, it is an old acquaintance who is once again reaching out for power.

Story
The choice of bringing a book out of the dustbin of history and making it more easily available to the general public should be an easy decision, right? Not in the case of The Wonderful Electric Elephant written by Frances Montgomery. Listeners can hear exactly what Frances Montgomery wrote and decide for themselves what they think of it. Parts of this novel are a vile stain on history and society. But, I must also add that she wrote some innovative ideas and had some imaginative concepts which were ahead of her time.

Story
Imagine a world with no countries, no religion, and no democracy. Imagine the fall of the Great Western Empire. Historically, most Empires created by man have risen and fallen during a period of around 500 years. The Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, the Moors, and the Ottomans all, in their turn, reigned supreme until apathy, arrogance, and laziness led to their downfall. However, mankind would never become extinct as new societies inevitably replace existing social structures sooner or later.
