In the aftermath of a deadly alien invasion, a band of survivors fights on....

Twelve humans are left stranded on a wintry alien planet. I'm one of them. Yay, me. In order to survive, we have to take on a symbiont that wants to rewire our bodies to live in this brutal place. I like to call it a cootie. And my cootie's a jerk, because it also thinks I'm the mate to the biggest, surliest alien of the group.

Like being stranded on a desert alien planet wasn't enough.... All I ever wanted was someone to love. Now my best friend is knocked up by the only hunky alien-dragon available and I can't tell anyone how totally jealous I am. The handful of humans who survived our ship's crash are locked in a struggle to live in sweltering heat with dwindling supplies. The others are taking the life giving, addictive epis but if I take it that means I'm stuck here. Forever. Which also means the chance of being rescued by a knight in shining armor would be zero.

Ten years ago, a deadly plague ravaged humanity. There were seven billion souls on our planet; now, there's just a handful. Our extinction event has come and gone, but a few of us did survive. We're the lucky ones, born with a rare genetic adaptation that gave us immunity to the plague. But the intervening decade had been brutal and unforgiving; so many more of us died.

Before the generation ship crashed on this desert alien planet, I was a vagrant. Unplanned and unwanted, struggling to survive. Now, we're on Tajss, and if not for the natives, seven-foot-tall dragon-men with wings and tails and scales, we'd all be dead. My new friends are finding love, and I couldn't be happier for them, but I want to fit in, I want to have a place and a purpose. Strangely enough, the only one who might understand is one of those scaled dragon-men. I wanted comfort and attention, but it turns out "one-night stand" doesn't translate into Zmaj.

A Dragon Hunter for me? No way. Olivia thinks it's impossible that the outrageously tall Zmaj with steely blue eyes would fall for her. A former data analyst, now she's just another human crash survivor on the harsh and alien desert planet. Smart, curvaceous Olivia doesn't feel like she measures up but that doesn't stop Ragnar from eyeing her luscious curves. He's the best hunter for the Tribe, driven and single-minded. Ragnar has always put the needs of his people over his own and never once regretted it, but now the dominant alpha male has his heart set on a different treasure.
