The red pandas (Ailurus ), also known as red pandas or pandas, are a genus of mammals native to the eastern Himalayas and southwestern China that feed primarily on bamboo. Red pandas can be found in temperate forests between 4,900 to 13,000 feet in height, though they tend to descend during the chilly winter months.
