Without any doubts, toddlers can be either tricky or lovely. When my children were small, I felt that I was struggling to get them to do things (without using any punishment, of course!). Sometimes, the only alternative was to bribing, threatening, or putting them into time out. I always worked as a teacher in Montessori education. Montessori method, named for the Italian physician Maria Montessori, stresses the importance of the development of a healthy self-concept: “One becomes a well-balanced adult only if one has fully been a child.”

Now you have raised a baby first and then a child, so now its time to raise a teenager. The bigger they are, the bigger problem they bring. At the same time you will develop your own skills during the road. But the road might be bumpy and you will never know what to expect. It might be calm or it might be a stormy journey, and not all but a lot of it is a reflection of your own behavior in different situations, and some of it is the personality of the teenager itself.

They say that raising a child is difficult. If you ask us, you have to be more specific. First, raising a baby and a child are two completely different things. From the moment your baby is born to when they reach an age they can follow what you are saying, the journey is not that difficult. The road that comes after that is treacherous filled with temper tantrums and unreasonable requests. Not to mention the imaginary friends and the blanket or stuffed toy they are not ready to let go of.

It's easy to think that children are either blessed with a high degree of intelligence or they aren't, and there's nothing we can do as parents to affect how smart they become. Yet studies have shown that when it comes to intelligence, nature vs. nurture is roughly 50/50, which means that parental influence may have a significant impact not just on how clever our children feel they are, but also on how bright they are. The verbal and cognitive skills that a kid acquires in early infancy and childhood equip them with the social and emotional life skills needed to succeed in life.

As others have noted, Montessori was a researcher who genuinely esteemed the logical technique and would not have anticipated that her educational strategy should remain static. Yet Montessori instructors regularly feel fear or vulnerability about having the option to apply Montessori's hypotheses in new and creative manners while as yet holding fast to her fundamental philosophical standards.
