Your Listener

By: John Cuturilo
  • Summary

  • Welcome! I’m John Cuturilo, the counsellor of Your Listener. On my podcast, I discuss psychology, mental health, and critical thinking, presenting unique perspectives free of politics and rhetoric. Rather than lecturing coercively on what to believe, I encourage my audience to be critical consumers of information, to be curious and constantly explore, to engage with others in intelligent and empathic conversation, and ultimately to be independent thinkers. I also believe in helping them to develop more detailed, complex knowledge, rather than overly simplifying concepts to the extent that they become empty slogans — something I see all too often! I maintain that while the quest for truth may never be completed, it's still crucial as one will always learn something and be striving for the best life possible.

People sometimes consider it irrational that others simply want to be heard when they're in distress rather than receive advice on a simple solution. Here, I explain why you should reconsider that position.
