  • Shakedown 1995; Cool Kids Never Have The Time
    Jan 17 2025

Brendon and Ronnie are feeling their ages because 1995 was 30 years ago. They're looking back at albums that released in 1995, and in this episode they mostly talk about "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" by the Smashing Pumpkins. Along the way, the fellas talk about how music can bond parents and children, make dark horse NFL playoff picks that have already aged poorly, and ask the important question: Do people still say "soda pop?" Brendon introduces Michelada Monday, explains what happened to the 49ers this season, and gives Ronnie a bass guitar. Ronnie tries to make sense of high school football summer practices, and he knows a lot about the Smashing Pumpkins. Seriously... a lot.

    Jan 10 2025

Brendon and Ronnie are celebrating the 50th season of Saturday Night Live! Along the way, Brendon asks how long we should acknowledge the New Year and remembers when Christopher Walken said the wrong emphasis in Foo Fighters. Ronnie thinks understanding street parking signs in LA counts as a second language and remembers when Eddie Murphy turned gibberish into one of the funniest sketches in SNL's long history.

  • Prediction Speculate-tacular
    Jan 3 2025

Brendon and Ronnie are ushering in the new year by speculating wildly about sports in 2025! Along the way, the fellas trade their favorite instant ramen flavors, discuss the possibility of robot umpires in baseball, and fail to avoid talking about the Stanford Prison Experiment. Brendon predicts that the Giants will play their 19th different Opening Day Left Fielder in the 19 years since Barry Bonds retired, and Ronnie predicts the Giants will step forward with their new front office hire, Buster Posey. Brendon predicts that Mauricio Pochettino will bring U.S. Men's Soccer to play a more European way, while Ronnie predicts that James Gunn will bring Superman back to standing for Truth, Justice, and the American Way. -- OK, so they're not ALL sports predictions...

    Dec 27 2024

Brendon and Ronnie continue their tradition of honoring favorite jersey numbers with a special topic. From the rules and scoring to famous drivers and tracks to the difference between Formula 1 and IndyCar; Brendon covers everything you need to know to watch a race without confusion. He also reveals the name of his own car! • Juan Soto's Price Tag Grab Bag
    Dec 20 2024

Brendon and Ronnie marvel at the astronomically large contract the New York Mets signed Juan Soto to, and then talk about some other needle moving transactions in sports history. Along the way the fellas discuss strategies for getting Pringles out of the lower half of a can and lament the failure of the extremely talented 03-04 Lakers. Brendon remembers how to get to the Cerritos Auto Square and breaks Ronnie's brain right before the break. Ronnie details his rational cynicism for a recent television commercial and his irrational dislike of Seattle.

  • Life, The Universe, and Jackie Robinson
    Dec 13 2024

Brendon and Ronnie are celebrating their 42nd episode! They start by talking about the most important athlete to ever wear 42 in Jackie Robinson, and a short history on his impact in the world. Ronnie fires off some trivia about other athletes to wear the number, and Brendon singles out one that is very close to his heart. Then, they go from "Deep Thoughts with Jack Handey" to Deep Thought, the super computer built to give the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Along the way, the fellas lament that injuries robbed us all of more games with Ken Griffey Jr., ponder how the Dodgers' recent salary deferrals work, and reveal the most important item to carry with you when hitchhiking the galaxy.

  • Kevin McCallister's Imagination Buffalo
    Dec 6 2024

Brendon and Ronnie are sleigh-bell-ringing in the Christmas season by talking about their favorite media to consume during December. They throw their opinion on the "Is Die Hard a Christmas Movie?" fire, discuss the phenomenon that was Christmukkah in the mid 2000s, and introduce everyone to a donkey named Dominick. Along the way, Brendon claims that he can count backward from 3 and confirms that Hamburger Hill is real. Ronnie knows a lot about Canadian provinces and casually throws out that "It's A Wonderful Life" is deeply anti-capitalist.

  • WrassleFrassle II
    Nov 29 2024

Brendon and Ronnie are hyped for the WWE's Survivor Series! Listen as they rundown how both Bloodlines fighting in the men's WarGames match is worthy of being called cinema while the women's match is cobbled together and meaningless. In the second half, they talk about the not-so-serious wrestlers like Orange Cassidy and Chelsea Green. Along the way, Brendon compares himself to Bartolo Colon (again), the guys celebrate a progressive mascot choice made by a SoCal high school, and Ronnie marvels how a professional wrestler named Yoshihiko reveals the poetry and beauty within this "fake" sport.
