By: JustEldredge Media
  • Summary

  • Where The Party At is a bipartisan political platform created to engage inactive voters and provoke action. We do this by educating our audience weekly on the current state of politics, introducing elected officials, breaking down legislation, and advocating for change. Hosted by Saba Long, an Atlanta-based political strategist, community organizer, media, and communication consultant, this podcast is poised to spark a paradigm shift in people who have traditionally ignored the political process. Whether it's Democrats, Republicans, or Independent, this podcast is where the party is at!

We are back, but the news doesn't stop! Today we talk

    1. Automatic Voter Registration in Georgia: Georgia Republicans voted to end automatic voter registration. Senate Bill 221, which passed out of committee, contrasts with the previous implementation by Brian Kemp during his tenure as secretary of state. The bill's fate now rests with the full Senate and possibly the governor.
    2. Georgia Inmates’ Letter to Kemp: Inmates in Georgia penned an open letter to Governor Kemp, addressing corruption and suggesting solutions for safety and staff issues within the prison system. The response from the head of the Georgia Department of Corrections highlighted efforts to address these concerns.
    3. Black Clergy Call for Ceasefire: Over 1,000 Black clergy, including 200 pastors from Georgia, urge President Biden to push for a ceasefire in Israel. This call reflects a broader perspective linking war, militarism, poverty, and racism. However, some voices emphasize holding Hamas accountable alongside pursuing peace.
    4. CPAC 2024 Highlights: CPAC featured speeches by figures like Jack Posobeic advocating for the end of democracy. Byron Donalds's opening speech garnered attention, potentially positioning him as a leading Black Republican figure. Lara Trump's role indicates her potential bid for the co-chair of the RNC.
    5. South Carolina Primary Results: The podcast discusses results from the South Carolina primary, including notable speeches and moments such as Randall Woodfin's remarks on diversity and inclusion in sports institutions.
