In the very first episode of Track Stories, my guest is Thea LaFond Gadson. Thea is the Dominican record holder in the triple jumper, a two time Olympian, a two time World Championships finalist and a two time Commonwealth Games’ medalist. Her personal best is 14.90m.
Thea talks about her journey as an athlete, from competing in the pentathlon, to representing her country at the Olympic Games. She talks about the benefits of practicing different events as a younger athlete, and talks about the transition from college to becoming a professional athlete. She also shares some insights on how she has managed to continue to develop every year, and what she needs to do in order to go even further.
