    No episode will include spoilers for any of his works. They include details and interesting bits of locations, content & characters described with significant history insights and even odd connections with history by people and places in the novels.

    Since 1996, the Wisdom of the Donut Hole helped Ron create an impressive list of novels starring a round-table of retired donut eating, crime fighting, mystery solving, wildlife engaging good guys in amazing and real Alaska locales. Having authored 14 novels as of 2023. With Alaska primary backdrop, there's no shortage of interesting places and people to fill our episodes and inspire listeners. We hope you read Ron's books, of course. We also hope to spark interest in visiting the Last Frontier that is Alaska.

    Ron's books range from crime thrillers, police investigations and international intrigue to wildlife adventures. Stories are based on actual events, such as terrorist threats to the Alaska Pipeline during the Gulf War, and real people that made Alaska what it is today; including Ron Walden.

    An Alaska Wildlife Trooper and US Wildlife Officer patrolling the Mystery Creek Area of the Kenai Peninsula in Alaska find a partially butchered poached moose near the body of the poacher, obviously killed by a large bear.

    His identity leads investigators to a family known for extensive poaching. A family known for violence against Wildlife Officers. The crimes escalate in Alaska and internationally in both value and violence, pitting local Wildlife Troopers against a violent and dangerous crew.

    WILDERNESS NIGHTMARE As witnessed by Joyce Thompson. Her first-hand account about a terrible attack by an Alaska brown bear on Al and Joyce in 1972, on the Kenai Peninsula is included.

  • Blue Sky and Green Grass: Murder, Money Laundering and Winter Farming in Alaska

    A trapper flying out to his trap-line one freezing cold morning discovered an airplane, nose-down, in the trees. He lands on the frozen lake to find the pilot dead, frozen in his seat.

    Four duffels piled behind the pilot contained marijuana, a briefcase filled with cash and a Colt .45 pistol.

    Ultimately deciding to keep the money, surmising it wouldn’t be missed, his greed draws a Cartel’s henchmen to retrieve it.

    The ensuing investigation by Alaska State Troopers and NTSB exposes a huge grow operation and worldwide narcotics distribution.

    Informants surface, circumstantial evidence is gathered, but hard evidence connecting a suspect is lacking. Vicious henchmen don’t make it easy either.

    Alaska State Trooper helicopter pilot Sgt. Karen Holmes and fellow Trooper Craig Stanton investigate amid daring rescues and routine duties.
