  • Ep 53. Will Mellor, Angellica Bell & Maisie Adam
    Sep 14 2024

Welcome to the latest episode of The MarshyCast! I don’t say this often enough, but I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to chat with such amazing people, and I never take it for granted. As always, if you want to catch me on the air, you can tune in to my radio shows weekday mornings on Express FM at 10am, and afternoons on HGV1 at 4pm. But for now, here’s a roundup of the brilliant interviews from this past week.

First, I caught up with the always entertaining Will Mellor. We had a laugh over why I named a chicken Janet, discussed the possibility of a 2 Pints of Lager reunion, and dove into his powerful performance in Mr Bates v The Post Office. Plus, we talked about his new show Teachers.

Next, I had a lively debate with the wonderful Angellica Bell, where we found ourselves in a heated discussion about whether pineapple has a place in a morning fry-up! We also touched on her recent MasterChef experience and everything in between.

Finally, I had the pleasure of chatting with the hilarious Maisie Adam. We talked about her upcoming tour, the joy (and chaos) of pre-season friendlies, and how playing in Soccer Aid is probably the closest she’ll get to a World Cup call-up.

Thank you so much for reading and (hopefully) listening! Don’t forget to spread the word—tell a friend to tell a friend, and let’s keep this community growing.

  • Ep 52. Toby L, Luisa Zissman & Dr. Scott Miller
    Sep 7 2024

Welcome back to another jam-packed edition of The MarshyCast! If you’re eager for more, you can catch me daily on Express FM at 10am and HGV1 Radio at 4pm. This week, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing some incredible guests, and I can’t wait for you to hear these conversations.

First up, I sat down with acclaimed director Toby L to chat about his work with Blur on their 2023 Wembley show, now available in cinemas, and their To the End documentary, perfect for a cosy night in. Toby shared what it’s like to collaborate with a band that defined an entire generation and how even music legends have surreal, pinch-me moments.

Next, the always entertaining Luisa Zissman joined me to discuss the challenges of teens heading back to school and how giving them more responsibility can be overwhelming. We also explored why, in her opinion, a Taylor Swift concert beats any vacation—a perspective I’m sure many fans will agree with!

Finally, I had an enlightening chat with Dr. Scott Miller about something close to many of our hearts: our beloved dogs. We discussed the common mistakes we make when traveling with them in cars, and I learned so much that I made immediate changes myself after our conversation.

As always, thank you for tuning in—your support means the world. Don’t forget to spread the word, especially if you have friends who are millionaires or happen to own a radio station!

  • Ep 51. John Kearns, Zack George, Luke Bugg & Paul Edwards, and Cherie Hall
    Aug 30 2024

Welcome back to The MarshyCast! Yes, it’s been a few weeks, but we’ve been busy at Express FM, covering the incredible Victorious Festival. Over the last two weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing some amazing local bands. If you missed those episodes, you can catch them on the Express FM website. But today, I’m thrilled to bring you a bumper episode packed with some truly remarkable interviews. Trust me, this one’s worth the wait.

    On this week’s podcast:

    • I caught up with the brilliant John Kearns to discuss his new Sky Comedy special, The Varnishing Days. We dove into his experience on Taskmaster, why he was so eager to join the show, his thoughts on THAT Jermaine Jenas moment, and how to nail the perfect comedy special ending.
    • Next, I spoke with Zack George, better known as Steel the Gladiator, about the highly anticipated second season of Gladiators. We also talked about his inspiring program for schools, Zactive, and why taking down funny people is tougher than it looks.
    • Jon Brown joined me for an epic chat with Luke Bugg, aka The Geek of Steel, and Paul Edwards, aka DC World, about their adventures at the world’s biggest Comic-Con in San Diego. We also explored the surreal experiences of Comic-Con, where you’re never quite sure what’s real.
    • Lastly, I had the pleasure of speaking with Cherie Hall from U&Dave about the Joke of the Year at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and how winning this coveted title can catapult a comedian’s career.

Thank you once again for reading and listening. Now that we’ve caught our breath, it’s time to get back to taking over the world—one podcast at a time. Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe!
