Today I sit with Ashley Hurwitz and Ra'Chaun Rogers of Lawful Evil Comics to speak about their newest offering Pyre: Burial at Sea. A continuance into the Lawful Evil Universe as the character Lily or Succubabe as she is known and her origin as a Demigod born into a lineage that tends to continue old traditions and more accustomed to power, but Lily is more unconventional and sees the world as her playground. In fact, in this series her first contact with humanity after escaping her realm takes us to a period in the High seas when the world was surrounded by Pirates. Amidst all the debauchery, violence, and death, Lily chooses to adapt and play along concealing her true power. That is if her Father an Eldritch God seeks her out first.

Today I speak with Anthony Stokes about his 6th project of 2024, the Sci-fi Comedy IDGAF about Aliens. It Starts with Guy, on the way to be a groomsman at his friend Derrick's wedding. Until he is Abducted by Aliens and seems to be more concerned with his rental car. The Aliens want to study humans so they found the most mediocre of his kind and the hilarity ensues. From the very condescending Jeff and Ryan, 2 Aliens that are judgmental towards Guy and his means to go home. Also, the Alien Queen that wants to fornicate but Guy would rather smokes some weed. A mix between the Hangover and the Sci-fi Comedy Paul this comic is quick-witted from top to bottom.

Today I speak with BAFTA award winner Mark Maia about his Dark Comedy where the world of Vampires and werewolves living among us is completely normal in the tale So-Called Living live on Kickstarter. We introduce you to Jack, who seems to be an average guy living in this world until the day he has to adapt to being bitten and yes some of the Vampires move like Gangsters from the Sopranos. We discuss his work in the video game industry writing for 24: The Game and Foregone as well as his youtube channel Boardgame Coffee.

Today I talk with Australian Creator Phillip Tarl Denson about his cyberpunk take on classic Fairy Tales and Fables in the Graphic Novel- Future Tales. Phillip having a history in screenwriting and inspired by the likes of Ridley Scott comes into a fantasy of turning your storybook heroes into a Modernized Sci-fi Retelling. Such as Red, the hooded messenger or the 3 underground cities referencing the 3 pigs domains. We also discuss the move of crowdfunding your book and moving to the direct market like Amazon.

Today, I been anticipating talking about the Titan Comics Sci-Fi Graphic Novel inspired by the life of Jimi Hendrix-Purple Haze. My Guest DJ Ben Ha Meen, show writer for American Gods as well as Co-Host of one of my favorite podcast For All Nerds with Tatiana King. Ben partners in writing this project with Mellow Brown another masterful writer authoring the Blade runner series for Titan Comics. Ben and Mellow detail moments in Jimi's life that you know and some you want to grow to learn typically why the book is depicted as a space opera due to Jimi's love of Pulp Space Novels. With the assist and approval of Jimi's sister Janie Hendrix, Ben weaves us through the story of Jimi's forming of the Band of Gypsies, his opposition of the war, the bridges he created not only in hip hop but all music. We speak on the writers use of Gimmicks in popular artists especially when their music has a message. Overall, you see an exploration of a Black musician who changed the boundaries of Music in all genres.

Today I sit with good friend Corey "Task" Pruitt about his latest dive into "High" Fantasy Afro Punks. A contrast of Final Fantasy 7 and Battle Chasers, we see Task put together a Horde of different personalities all while utilizing a sense of comedy throughout the book. I ask about his affection in creating teams as with his past book Leaders of the Free world and the melding of having multiple character temperaments to write for as opposed to a singular Protagonist. We speak on each Character in detail- Auxillary, Danny Deadass, MDSA, Genevieve, and Think Tank. We also discuss his repeated trait in sonically using music in his stories and subjects. Today I sit with the Future of Konkret Comics, JiReh Cecil and Lyle Ringold to speak on the first ever crossover in their publishing history-Crucial Conflict which lends it name of the Hip hop Group from their hometown of Chicago. The Characters of Watchman and Deja Vu stand in two separate ends of the spectrum as Tevin Fields has always been somewhat of a loner and very street but Malcolm Crown stands from a very influential family that has made him a powerful businessman. WE find out what happens when Southside meets Midtown in a story with implications in both their arcs. We also discuss the differences in indie comics between Kickstarter and the direct market space.

Today I once again speak with Damien Becton about his latest project live on Kickstarter. An Epic Fantasy tale-The Few of Farbetween follows the trails of Jedayah and 18 year old young woman stricken with war and grief as combination of Magic, AI, and Tech have driven her continent into madness through all regions until Terroframe enters their world. For fans of Final Fantasy and Avatar you will see a landscape of worldbuilding for stories to come. As an added bonus we get a sneak peak into Damien next project, an homage into Southern Hip Hop and Car Culture in Choppin Blades.
