  • Michael Perry - Recovering from acute stress reaction
    Oct 28 2024

If you’re into gardening, you’ve probably heard of Michael Perry, also known as Mr Plant Geek. He’s appeared on ITV’s This Morning and Steph’s Packed Lunch on Channel 4, and he’s an award-winning columnist and writer, having published his debut book on unusual plants last year.

But what you might not know is that he’s also an advocate for taking control of your own health and wellbeing. After a health scare in early 2024, he decided to expand his knowledge and interest into alternative therapies and habits such as grounding, breathwork and even TRE therapy. This is the first time he’s talking about his new alignment with wellbeing, and he shares with us some of his daily practices that help nourish what he calls his mind, body and soul.

  • What women should know about menopause and osteoporosis
    Oct 21 2024

According to the International Osteoporosis Foundation, 1 in 3 women over the age of 50 will suffer from fragility fractures, including hip fractures, which are the most severe. Shockingly, around 24% of women who experience a hip fracture die within one year, and 40% of those who survive lose the ability to walk independently. This is why we need to address the topics of osteoporosis and menopause together, as they are deeply connected to a woman’s health - whether you are 20, 40, 60 or older.

In this week's episode, we hear from Katharine Bright, a nutritional therapist specialising in midlife health with a special interest in bone health. Katherine talks about why menopausal women are more at risk of osteoporosis, and what they can do to help prevent fractures and disease progression with positive lifestyle changes, as well as targeted supplements like bonebalance.
