  • Review: Beau Is Afraid
    Oct 31 2024

It is Halloween night, the last episode this year of spooky scary films and we end it with a fear that we all seem to have, anxiety. A mind bending of a film starring Beau who learns that his mother has died and must travel to her home for the funeral. With that short synopsis, this film is easily in our opinion Ari Asters best work blending his use of time lapse, unconventional scares and a story that at some times feels like a hero's saga all while making you, the audience feel uncomfortable the entire time. You must watch this film to feel the full effect if you are a Aster fan and "every minute you wait, deepens the humiliation".

  • Ambiguous Horror
    Oct 27 2024

The long hallway, the carpet interior of an old home, the empty swimming pool in the middle of the night, these are the settings that may seem normal on the surface but you get this uneasy feeling to it. Today this is what we discuss in the horror genre of the viewers realizing things that the characters may not be, creating a terror and suspense like no other. As always, we would love to know what you may think and ask you to listen in as we stand in the background unbeknown to the party involved with ambiguous horror.

  • Review: Last Voyage Of The Demeter
    Oct 24 2024

Wanna get away and enjoy a nice cruise out on the sea? Better check the cargo and make sure Dracula isn't on it first. The original novel of Dracula's single page about the boat ride is adapted in to a film as the crew slowly realize a great evil is aboard. While we commend the idea of this film, we can't get over the really weird CGI of the vampire lord himself and find it hard to connect with the great acting of characters that we know won't survive. All in all its a fun film with a different feel for a story told so often so we still say check it out and "may you find the end of your journey".
