  • Language of the Unheard
    Jun 7 2022

Andy and James begin the episode discussing the 2014 HBO Sports with Bryant Gumbel episode where a 14-year-old is shown being able to buy not one, but two guns at a Gun Show.

They switch the subject to the difference between Civil unrest, Riot, or Unlawful Assembly.

The guys discuss three major Riots that occurred in the last 30 years. James breaks down what occurred in his city of Cincinnati back in 2001 when a Cincinnati Policer Officer gunned down Timothy Thomas, and how most of the unrest was in the Over-The-Rhine section of Downtown Cincinnati.

Andy discusses the 1992 Los Angeles Riots that stemmed from the not-guilty verdicts of LAPD officers that were videotaped beating Rodney King. Both agree this was due to the anger the citizens felt over their treatment of police brutality and racial tensions.

They finish discussing the most recent gatherings after the death of Breonhna Taylor, George Floyd, and Ahmaud Arbery. How this was amplified by the growth of the internet and social media platforms.

Near the end, Andy and James both try and figure out how we can make most gatherings and lawful assembly. James also asks about January 6th, 2021, if that was a riot, unlawful assembly, or peaceful.

Finally, Andy hits a sore spot with James discussing Gabe Kapler as they close the show out.

  • That One Word
    May 31 2022

It was time to discuss one of the most divisive words in the world.

But before Andy and James begin to discuss that, they spend sometime trying to find a common ground on gun control. Why does it happen? How it isn't a constitutional to take away assault rifles as that wasn't exactly what our forefathers had in mind when coming up with 2nd Amendment.

Andy and James transition to discussing the "N-word" and whether it is ever appropriate to use it based on your skin color or race. James also provides a story regarding a bus passenger and her inability to not use the word. Andy brings up the fact that growing up he was called a racial slur for being Mexican. James and Andy then discuss whether Redneck should be outlawed as well because technically its viewed by some as a racial slur.

They finish off with some news that was reported about Somerville High School, Martin County School and Jefferson County School district.
