• Jaws (AKA The Shark Movie) with Lan Pitts, Emmanuel Lipscomb, and Susan Beneville
    Oct 4 2024
The one in which Lan questions the validity of the entire premise of the podcast - to talk pedantically about concepts that don't really quite apply to horror movies. I mean... you can't prove that shark's not a feminist, Lan. Get bonus content on Patreon

  • Godzilla Minus One (aka GODZILLA HATES YOU) w/ Marcus Anderson
    Sep 20 2024

Y'all remember that Godzilla who was a friend to all? You know, the fierce protector of mankind against some other worse monsters? The guy that had a team of kids and a tiny monster buddy?

    This ain't that Godzilla.

The Godzilla of Godzilla Minus One hates you. He hates everything about you. He hates your stupid little boat. He hates your tragic backstory. He hates your cool and slightly shady commonlaw wife. He wants to burn down your life just so he can't stomp on the cinders. This Godzilla says fuck your life, fuck them kids, fuck train in particular. Godzilla Minus One is here to ruin your day.

And it's amazing. We can't say enough about it!

You know who else we can't say enough about? Marcus Anderson! He's got a new book out called "Big Jim and the White Boy" which isn't just a retelling of Huck Finn, it's a recontextualizing of the book, the characters, Mark Twain, the books place in classrooms, libraries, and greatest of all time lists and how it's not just about taking the N word out. You gotta read this book, guys!

  • 28 Days Later (aka In Valium Veritas) with James Asmus
    Sep 1 2024

This is the podcast episode that launched a new obsession for Emily: Cillian Murphy in all his splendor.

Listen, this is a movie about fast zombies, but you're mostly gonna hear us talking about Cillian Murphy's extensive nudity and his sassy hips. We are joined by the amazing and incredible James Asmus and you should immediately go order his book "Survival Street: The Radical Left" coming out soon (or in the past, if you're listening to this later)!

Our recommendations for this episode are: Cillian Murphy's hips.

  • Dawn of the Dead (AKA Zombie Indoor Shopping Center)
    Aug 18 2024

We made it! We made 200 episodes of a podcast about politics and horror movies. You're welcome!

This time we're talking about the original Dawn of the Dead. If you've ever seen a zombie in a shopping mall, you can thank George A. Romero and this movie. It's wild. It's often stupid. It was made for a buck fifty, overnight, at a shopping mall that they nearly destroyed.
