But did you know that sitting in traffic can actually have serious implications for your health? From increased stress levels to reduced physical activity. Traffic jams can spike your cortisol levels, which is a fancy way of saying they make you stressed out. Chronic stress from daily commutes can lead to headaches, anxiety, and even high blood pressure. So, what can you do?" "One great tip is to turn your car into a sanctuary. Listen to your favorite music, audiobooks, or even our Nutri Bites podcast. Deep breathing exercises and mindfulness can also help you stay calm behind the wheel." Long periods of sitting can contribute to weight gain, poor posture, and back pain. To combat this, try incorporating some light stretches during stop-and-go traffic or taking breaks if you're on a long journey. "And don't forget to stay hydrated and snack wisely. Keep a bottle of water and healthy snacks in your car to avoid the temptation of fast food drive-thrus." "Lastly, let's address the elephant in the room: air pollution.
