    In this must-listen episode, we are honored to host Doug Dickey, a true titan of college football. As a player, coach, and athletic director, Doug’s impact on the sport is nothing short of monumental. A former quarterback for the Florida Gators, Doug made his mark as the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers from 1964 to 1969, where he led the team to two SEC championships and introduced game-changing innovations like Tennessee's "Power T" helmet logo, the T-formation, and the checkerboard end zones. His success continued at the University of Florida, where he served as head coach from 1970 to 1978.

    Beyond coaching, Doug's legacy includes a transformative tenure as the Athletic Director at Tennessee from 1985 to 2002. Under his leadership, the athletic department flourished, with the expansion of Neyland Stadium and the hiring of several successful coaches, further cementing Tennessee’s status as a powerhouse in college sports. Coach Dickey was also friends and colleagues with the legendary Pat Summitt, the former Head Coach of the Lady Volunteers Women's Basketball Team. In recognition of his extraordinary contributions, Doug was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2003.
