The Season 3 finale is here! For this episode, the ladies welcomed ½ of the Acquired Nuts Podcast Jay Lewis. Jay was once a standup comedian and discussed the woes of stand up comedy with Alex and Frankie. Once again Krystle is referred to as a grandma. In this episode, the ladies welcome the inspirational Natalia Mendez, Founder of Women on Wheels. WOW is a peer group for women with SCI (spinal cord injury) based in NYC. Natalia sits as a board member for NYC Spinal of the United Spinal Association. She suffered a spinal cord injury and turned her tragedy into triumph. The ladies learn about the great work Natalia does with Women on Wheels. Frankie explains how she met Natalia and how Natalia taught her to use certain parts of her tongue to taste food. Natalia also discussed sex with a disability and her first time exploring herself post injury.

This week the ladies welcome special guest Tomika Anderson Greene, an award winning media communications professional and the owner of Manifest Greatness Media and Single Parents Travel just to name a few. Tomika shares her love story, which was also featured in the New York Times, her experience with marriage and motherhood.

Tomika shares the story of when Jill Scott cursed her out and her journey working with BET, Black Girls Rock etc. She talks about her experience getting pregnant in her late 30’s and encourages the ladies to become mothers no matter what- if that is what we want. She tells the ladies that they can get everything they want and desire but it might not always look or come exactly how we want it to come. Tomika stated she now has her family with a husband and children but it took her being a single mother first. The conversation left the girls in a state of reflection.

Many times on social media the question is asked, “would you date yourself?” In this episode, the ladies answer this question while discussing the why and the growth they see within themselves. Khira points out that you don’t know if you are truly healed until you get into a relationship with someone and past traumas come up. Frankie admits she doesn’t have the capacity to be in a relationship with someone. Alex, although looking good on paper, admits there is work that still needs to be done. In this episode the girls discuss trauma bonds, the different types of trauma bonds and how to recognize them. Alex discusses her past relationship and how she figured out when it was time to leave. Khira has to think about if she truly likes a person outside of the bond or the relationship when trying to figure out if a relationship serves her. Krystle quoted the advice given by Kevin Gates, women are flowers and we deserve love simply by just being, we don't owe anyone anything. Frankie reminds us not to be in a scarcity mindset and know that it will always get better. Kinkstas remember to speak up for yourself and have boundaries and stop those bonds in its tracks.
