• Chris Zimmerman, Red Five Media: A Passion for Media Production Becomes the Basis for Life-Transforming Opportunities (Part One)
    Jan 6 2025

Well, it happened. The second season of Northwest Christian's student-led, podcast-based audio drama "I Witness" went viral.

    Again.

The first season ("The Lazarus Project") was published in April 2024 and was a viral sensation in its own right. But the second season ("Silent Night"), released over four consecutive weeks in December 2024, went gloriously viral. Featured by Apple podcasts as part of the lead-off podcast promotional page for podcasts in the "Arts" genre, I Witness spanned the globe and became one of the top 50 Arts podcasts on Apple podcasts.

The heart and mind behind I Witness is Chris Zimmerman, also the founder of Red Five Media. Zimmerman uses students to craft both audio dramas as well as student-featuring short films as part of Northwest Christian's "NXNW Film Festival" fine arts initiative.

Today, we have the chance to hear from Zimmerman, to understand his story, and better understand what motivates a young man that is using his gifts and talents to transformational effect within the lives of students.

  • NCS Christmas Chapel 2024: Three Seniors Reflect on the Three Gifts of the Magi
    Dec 24 2024

Each year at Northwest Christian, the first chapel of December is an all-school chapel to celebrate Christmas. It's a tremendous amount of fun and a wonderful tradition - one of just two times per year that the entire pre-K through 12th grade community gathers together in the Don Sanderson Gymnasium.

Among the many traditions -- some very noisy and boisterous, others more reverent and worshipful -- one of the favorites is the opportunity for seniors to reflects on different aspects of the Christmas season.

This year, December 2024, those three seniors reflected on the meaning behind the three gifts brought to Jesus and His family. In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, Geoff and G sit with those seniors and further explore their reflections.

To enjoy a video of the Christmas 2024 chapel, please follow this link.

  • [Build Here, Build There Update] Mike Waypa, Director of Operations, Northwest Christian School (Part 2)
    Dec 9 2024

Northwest Christian School's "Build Here, Build There" campus improvement campaign is unlike most any other capital campaign. In keeping with its mission to teach Biblical worldview to its students, the BHBT effort invests time and resources into ministries outside the school in an effort to provide ministry opportunities to young people.

That part of the plan will not change. However, as Mike Waypa discusses today, there are aspects of the plan that are changing...and it is time to get excited...

  • Jared and Sophie Nightingale, Northwest Christian Alumni: Carrying the Legacy of Christian Education into Family and Career
    Nov 11 2024

    Homecoming. Was. Epic.

Maybe too epic? After a spirited Spirit Week chock full of hijinks and shenanigans, the Northwest Christian community wheeled into the day of Homecoming and blew the doors off. It started at 7:00am with Big Boys on Campus, our monthly men's prayer breakfast, continued with a parade, an assembly, a carnival, an alumni dinner, and ultimately a sound beating of St. Mary's High School's football team.

But, for all that happened that day, the morning's prayer breakfast speaker may have been the singular moment in which the power and purpose of Northwest Christian was most ably presented. Jared Nightingale, class of 2008, spoke and gave potent testimony to the enduring legacy of Christian education within his life.
In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we hear as Jared walks us through his testimony, his marriage, his growing family, and his career. In so doing, we're reminded not just of the potency of Christian education but what it means and what it looks like to thrive within the Biblical design for living that the Lord has ordained.
