    Today’s guest, Peabo Bryson, is a legendary singer and songwriter who is widely referred to as “the voice of love”.


    In a career spanning 5 decades, this man’s rich, soulful voice has brought us 21 albums, 5 of which have been certified gold, in addition to 8 compilation albums. He’s released 57 hit singles including “Reaching for the Sky”, “I’m So Into You”, “Minute by Minute”, “Let the Feeling Flow”, “If Ever You’re In my Arms Again”, “Show & Tell”, “Can You Stop the Rain”, and of course, he’s recorded some of the greatest duets of the past century including “Gimme Some Time” and “What You Won’t Do for Love” with Natalie Cole, “Here We Go” with Minnie Ripperton, “Make the World Stand Still”, “Tonight I Celebrate My Love” and “You’re Lookin’ Like Love to Me” with Roberta Flack, “Lovers After All” with Melissa Manchester, “You Are My Home” with Linda Eder, “By the Time This Night Is Over” with Kenny G, “We Kiss in the Shadows” with Lea Salonga, and of course we all remember the mega-blockbuster classic duets which earned our guest TWO Grammy Awards: “Beauty and the Beast” with Celine Dion, and “A Whole New World” with Regina Belle, and BOTH of those songs won Academy Awards for the Disney animated feature films, “Beauty and the Beast” and “Aladdin”.


    This man is so phenomenally successful, that he’s the first artist in music history to have separate songs topping FOUR different Billboard charts: pop, R & B, Classical Crossover and Contemporary Jazz. And if all of that weren’t enough, our guest has also starred onstage in “Raisin”, and he played “The Wizard” in “The Wiz”, and he starred as “Sporting Life” in the Michigan Opera’s 100th Anniversary Production of “Porgy and Bess”.

    He also played “Cameron Sanders Sr.” on the popular daytime drama, “A House Divided”, for which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor. And of course, we remember him as “Noah” on the groundbreaking 1977 TV miniseries, “Roots”. And he played Michael Jackson’s father, Joseph Jackson, in the 1992 miniseries, “The Jacksons: An American Dream”, for which he was nominated for an NAACP Image Award.


    He’s also appeared in many other movies including “Claudine”, “Cooley High”, “Youngblood”, “The Annihilators”, “L.A. Heat”, “Southlander”, “A Chance in the World”, “The Perfect Mate”, “The Contract” and many more. And on TV, you’ve seen him in dozens of great shows including “Barnaby Jones”, “Hill Street Blues”, “Alien Nation”, “Diagnosis Murder”, “Roseanne”, “Gilmore Girls”, “Mind Your Business”, to name only a few. And who can ever forget his performance as “Brah Hardy” in the 2023 TV miniseries, “Legacy”?


    And in the late 70s he conquered Broadway, starring in “I Love My Wife”. And if all of that weren’t enough, our guest is also a recording artist. In the late 70s, he released 2 albums, “Lawrence Hilton Jacobs” and “All the Way…Love”.

The movie tells the story of a woman in the midst of an emotional upheaval, who inherits a half-interest in a struggling nightclub, where she encounters eccentric performers and discovers a heartbreaking secret.


    The movie will be released in theatres and on major streaming platforms in the very near future, so please keep an eye out for it. Our guest is currently in New York preparing to star in the World Premiere of Joshua Harmon’s play entitled, “We Had a World”, which will be presented by the Manhattan Theatre Club at the New York City Center Stage 2 from February 25 to April 13, 2025.     His feature film credits include “Girls Just Want to Have Fun”, “Caddyshack 2”, “Stealing Home”, “Weekend at Bernie’s One and Two”, “Class Action”, “Death Becomes Her”, “Breaking the Rules”, “Swinging with the Finkels”, and “Andover”, for which he won the Audience Choice Award at the Orlando Film Festival. And for his performance in “Snatched”, he was named Best Supporting Actor at the Hoboken International Film Festival.
