  • Episode 136: Comeback Kids, Storm Surge to 17-3
    Jan 24 2025

1-12 from three didn't matter. Being down 16 didn't matter. No Deivon Smith didn't matter. St. John's found a way to win as they have all season. Through suffocating defense and timely baskets from Kadary Richmond, RJ Luis Jr, Simeon Wilcher, and Zuby Ejifor the Johnnies got it down in OT in front of over 14,000 fans. Richmond had his best game in a St. John's uniform and when it was all said and done St. John's remained in first place and sweeping Xavier for just the third time ever.

The Prudential Center on Saturday night was the host of a beat down for the home town team. Through boa-constrictor like defense St. John's completely overwhelmed rival Seton Hall from start to finish 79-51. Kadary Richmond made sure to remind the Newark crowd how effective he was in all areas of the game, while RJ Luis Jr. and Zuby Ejifor powered St. John's to a win at The Rock for the first time since February 13, 2014. Joined by Kevin Connelly of StormThePaint.com we recap the game and discuss what being ranked means, plus the big Xavier game on Wednesday.

  • Episode 134: Red Storm Rally, Erase 15 Point Hoya Lead in 63-58 Win
    Jan 16 2025

Stop me if you have heard this before, St. John's used a second half surge to win another game. No Deivon Smith had St. John's perplexed in the first half but as they have done all year, the halftime break seemed to fix all. Behind Aaron Scott, Kadary Richmond and RJ Luis Jr, St. John's erased a 15 point deficit, 14 point deficit in the 2nd half by turning up the defense and forcing Georgetown to play at their pace. St. John's is 15-3, 6-1 and off to their best start to a season since 1985-196.

  • Episode 132: Saturday Night Fever, Red Storm Rock Villanova 80-68
    Jan 13 2025

In front of over 18,000 fans St. John's made Madison Square Garden feels like the 80s again. Red was seen to the roof, and St. John's thanks to defense and RJ Luis Jr. made sure to send their fans home happy. It was a tough game that featured a red hot Villanova team and the nation's leading scorer, but St. John's held him at bay with double teams. For St. John's they battled their own adversity finding a way to come back from a deficit in the 2nd half without Deivon Smith who had a shoulder injury. It's the third win a row for St. John's over Villanova as they are off to a 5-1 conference start for the first time since the 2000-2001 season.

  • Episode 130: St. John's Overcomes Poor Shooting to Beat Butler 70-62
    Jan 5 2025

St. John's was able to bounce back from a tough New Years Eve loss to Creighton with an eight point win at home against Butler. An awful shooting afternoon could not stop St. John's as they found a way in the 2nd half much like they have many times this season. Kadary Richmond asserted himself in the second half and made sure St. John's would leave victorious on a day they honored Lou Carnesecca on the weekend of what would have been his 100th birthday.

I'm joined by Zach Braziller of the NY Post to discuss and break it all down.
