    Dec 27 2024

You’re a personal injury lawyer who wants a robust social media presence. Picture this: You post a clip of a horse kicking someone against the wall… then, the image turns to you flying against the wall. “But then, you could talk about car accidents, or you could talk about any kind of law….You drew them in, and now you can talk about whatever you want.”

That tip comes from Ali Heidari, a/k/a “Doctor Cracks” and “Chiropractor to the Stars,” who has 420,000 followers on YouTube, 415,000 on Instagram, and 7.5 million followers and billions of views on TikTok. • Next Step in the Suboxone Tooth Decay Lawsuit: Vetting the Plaintiffs
    Nov 25 2024

In this update on the Suboxone Tooth Decay Lawsuit, Stan Gipe describes a “big step” – a step that may not seem big to plaintiffs, but is significant to the team that’s driving a mass tort against Suboxone’s manufacturer.

That step is a census so that the team – operating as a firm called Dolman Russo – vets each person it represents. The census asks claimants for information such as proof that they used Suboxone’s sublingual film, now linked to tooth decay. The team will also start asking claimants to sign release forms so the defense can secure their medical information.

A member of the Dolman Russo steering committee, Stan explains to colleague and host Matt Dolman: “I think we’ve been more aggressive and more proactive about getting records for our clients than just about any other firm out there. It’s going to force everyone to be proactive. It’s going to force everyone to go out there and get those records.”

The team is also reviewing electronically stored information for evidence of what the manufacturer, Indivior, knew or should have known about Suboxone’s dangers.

  • Does Depo-Provera Cause Brain Tumors? Litigation Is Possible but No Slam Dunk
    Nov 19 2024

A study published in March links the birth control Depo-Provera to a form of brain tumor.

But whether the study means that women who took Depo-Provera could successfully sue is unclear. Hosts Matt Dolman and Stan Gipe lay out both sides of the issue, including the opportunities and challenges of potential multi-district litigation.

“We’re gathering information, and I think at least from what we looked at, it looks pretty good from a claim perspective and kind of bad from a claimant perspective,” Stan says.

“I just think it’s early, and I want temper expectations,” Matt says.

Stan agrees that litigation is no “slam-dunk,” but women who think they may have a claim are invited to visit Dolman Law Group, call the firm’s toll free number, or call the Clearwater, Florida, number.

  • The Emerging Legal Landscape around Intimate Photos and the Internet
    Sep 20 2024

Back in the pre-digital days, you’d bring film into a drugstore to be developed. If the film contained nude photos, the only person you had to worry about was “that creepy guy behind the counter.”

“That was when we were talking about paper photos. They can actually get that photo back. It's done, right? Different day now,” Stan Gipe explains in this episode, where he and co-host Matt Dolman examine two recent cases that reveal modern dangers when it comes to intimate images. In one case, a female judge has been threatened with the release of her nude photos in a messy divorce. In another, a healthcare system settled with 135,000 patients whose data, including nude photos in the healthcare context, was leaked in a breach.

Tune in to hear Stan and Matt offer tips for handling nude photos in the digital era and invite listeners who may be the victim of exploitation to contact them.

  • Suboxone Lawsuit: Passing the Statute of Limitations, Mining Marketing Documents
    Aug 9 2024

The lawsuit against the manufacturer of Suboxone, a medication prescribed to help opioid addicts get clean but which causes tooth decay, continues on several fronts.

In this update, David v. Goliath hosts Matt Dolman and Stan Gipe outline two recent developments for clients and potential clients. First, they are now bringing cases in states that had a one- or two-year statute of limitations on product liability claims. Second, they are mining electronically stored information to discover materials that may reveal why the manufacturer, Indivior, put this product on the market when a potential safer alternative was available. • Holding Social Media Accountable for the Harm They Cause Kids
    Jul 18 2024

Social media can be a dangerous place for kids, but the Dolman Law Group is employing a novel strategy to make tech giants accountable for the harm they cause.

Matt Dolman and Stan Gipe explain that the Supreme Court’s recent refusal to revive a case against SnapChat shows why the fight against social media needs a new tactic. In that case, the court said laws protect Snapchat from being responsible for content that's posted by users. In their litigation, however, they have a different target: the algorithms that social media uses to addict youth. Tune in to learn more.
