Camera Brave Show

  • Summary

  • Welcome to the Camera Brave Show where I help entrepreneurs build their confidence on-camera and learn to tell their story through video. Each week, I share topics that will help you frame your mindset to focus on your messaging, and teach you how to craft your camera presence. We dig deep into pillars like confidence, energy, and authenticity and how they can help you build deeper connections with your audience. If we haven’t met, my name is Marissa. I’m an award-winning camera personality who is completely self-taught. After spending nearly a decade working on my craft and being labeled a ‘natural,’ I have taken my process and created a coaching system, teaching you how to do the same. I’ve used this framework to transform business owners that were terrified of being on-camera, and can now fearlessly embrace their voice and connect with their audience. Please subscribe to get new episode notifications and listen in weekly to learn how to take the next step to embracing your inner storyteller and becoming Camera Brave.

  • 3 Keys to Body Language | Episode 56
    Aug 23 2022

Body language is one of the most valuable assets for establishing a confident presence. Whether you’re on-camera, on-stage, or in-person networking, It all boils down to the way you carry yourself. Between 70 and 93% of communication is non-verbal, so that’s pretty important!

Start strong at the base and plant your feet. If your legs are crossed, uncross them to give you a stronger foundation. If you really need to keep still and are standing, squeeze one thigh (weird, but it will keep you still!)

The next component is keeping your shoulders back, and fighting that reflex to “close in” on yourself. Keeping your shoulders back and chin up whether you’re in a seated or standing position.

Last, and the absolute most important is eye contact. If you’re on-camera, this looks like staring directly into your camera, not your preview on Zoom, but your actual camera. If you’re in-person, then it’s looking at actual eyeballs. This shows that you’re focused and paying attention.

  • Why You Should Build your Content Backwards | Episode 55
    Aug 16 2022

When we’re talking about short format video, one of the most important aspects is developing a strong CTA. So I recommend building your content backwards. When you plan your content, start with the action you want your audience to take, then build your content around that.

For high-quality and high-performing reels, your content should include these three components: Hook, Value, and CTA.

To plan your content, start with your CTA (download my E-Book on confidence), then plan out the content (listing the 3 crucial keys of confidence), then write the short, clever “hook” to begin the video to get their attention (Confidence in 1, 2, 3).

If you’re looking for more info on how to build your content backwards, send me a DM on Instagram and I’d love to chat with you!

  • Who's Encouraging You? | Episode 54
    Aug 9 2022

A little encouragement can go a long way in the world of business. The best thing you can do for yourself is to work on building your circle with a community of those that will uplift you. In the moments of wins and especially those moments of fails, having people to turn to can be the ultimate difference between throwing in the towel and pushing forward.

Do you have a community that’s showing up for you when motivation isn’t. Do you have a coach that is helping to pull out of you the next steps for yourself?
