• 20: No More Nappies! EC & The Journey To Get There
    Nov 11 2024

What on earth is EC? In this episode we chat all about Elimination Communication with babies, how smart babies are, transitioning into toilet training and the commitment to wearing underwear for good!

Sick of changing nappies & a full bin? Want to have more money in your pocket? Want to empower your children? No more nappies means the beginning of potty independence and more money in your pocket. Giving your baby the opportunity to use the potty is a bonding experience, empowering your child and a closer step to never needing to change a nappy ever again! Hannah chats all about her families journey to potty independence through EC, regressions, helpful language, commitment and learning. Andrea Olsen from Go Diaper Free was the catalyst to Hannah's passion and desire while pregnant to get her babies straight onto the potty during the newborn phase.

Would you want to go to the toilet in your pants? Neither does a baby, so let's chat. Let's chat EC, tiny undies, toilet training, night time potty, societies beliefs, nappy companies benefits, sign language, helpful resources and even Hannah's potty song.

Please, if you haven't already, follow, rate and review. We are excited to get into more ears and hearts and this really helps.

  • 19: What We REALLY Think About Parenting
    Nov 4 2024

Hotties, is it just us, or do you also wonder if there will ever be a day when we can leave the house and not have to watch the clock and hurry home to our children?

Who knew parenting would be so TRIGGERING! These gorgeous, squishy, innocent, kind, funny little people...could push so many buttons. Parenting really pushes you to your limits, and in this episode we openly discuss our thoughts on what we REALLY think about it all.

Have you ever felt guilt for sending your children to daycare, or felt guilty after raising your voice? Do you wish you were more like what you *picture* the perfect parent to be? Us too!

This parenting job is hard, no if's and buts about it. It's monotonous, it's day in day out and this chat felt like a breath of fresh air to be reminded, that we are not in this alone. These thoughts are normal and one day, there will be time and space within our lives where we won't be watching the clock, nor needed at home.

  • 18: Overwhelm & Anxiety; Can Our Podcast Survive?
    Oct 28 2024

In this day and age it's fair to say everyone experiences anxiety to varying degrees, what we delve into today is how anxiety makes us feel, the feelings that have been coming up for us with creating our podcast, and the lack of time. We chat about how open communication really may be a key factor in welcoming some calm, along with needing to feel like we have a semblance of control within our life, and that life isn't just happening to us.

We touch on when big decisions and the thought of the unknown can feel huge, and sometimes when everything feels too much we can almost be left in this state of paralysis. We discuss how Rach & Han both have very different coping skills and touch on what it can look like for us when we are trying to dig ourselves out of an overhwleming spot within our lives.

This was a chat relavent to where we are right now, and in time we would love to explore further what living with anxiety can look like for some over the longterm, day in day out, and not just a fleeting thing that comes up from time to time.

Thank you for being here, and as always, find those hot minutes where you can Hotties.

  • 17: Living With An Eating Disorder
    Oct 21 2024

Hello dear Hotties! This week Rach generously and openly shares her experience with something she kept hidden from those closest to her for many many years. This raw and vulnerable chat, exudes honesty and a real insight into how it felt to live with Bulimia.

Rachael dives into the lowest points in her life, how her brain responded to certain situations, where it began, her feelings in amongst her colleagues and friends and how it felt when it was no longer a secret amongst those closest with her. She speaks about how she climbed out the other side with the help she received, both professionally and through those that were closest to her.

This is the very first time that Han and Rach have spoken about Rach's journey with Bulimia. Hannah asks all the questions that she has wondered about for years. This week's chat ended with the biggest of hugs.

Rachael is brave sharing her experience in the hope that it will reach someone who needs it most. We have no doubt you will share this with anyone that needs to hear it.

  • 16: Homebirths, Birth Pools, Private Midwives & Hospitals… We’ve Done Them All!
    Oct 14 2024

Hotties, come for the ride of pregnancy and birth with us! Hannah and Rachael not only share Birkenstocks, clothes, food and some quirks, but we shared the same midwife and both had a homebirth!

Today we dive right into the journey we had in both of our pregnancies and the lessons we learnt from our first births in order to shape our second births. We went through Mamatoto Midwives and both shared Juliana as our private midwife (not at the same time!). Today we talk about what that journey is like; the decision to have either a hospital or homebirth, the continuity of care, the ongoing support both mentally and physically, the after care in our homes and the birthing debrief that was so needed. We rave about Mamatoto Midwives and their mother-like care in this special period of our lives.

One of us share how they birthed their child themselves at home and we both reflect openly about our first birth experiences becoming quite traumatic. We both made decisions moving forward to empower ourselves and not let that happen second time around.

It is a personal one, but we are confident you will enjoy the chat.

Please, if you haven't already, follow, rate and review. We are excited to get into more ears and hearts and this really helps.

  • 15: Hello Postpartum Body...Let's Get To Know One Another!
    Oct 7 2024

Strap yourself in for this one Hotties; whether you have been pregnant, birthed a child, been a sporty person, hit the gym or looked closely at your body in the mirror you will be able to relate to this one. It is a lot to navigate... you fall pregnant, you honour your changes within your body, you birth and then you are back to you again, right?
    Absolutely not (for most)!

In today's chat, we dive into all of the feels around our post pregnancy bodies. We share the joy we have felt through the process of pregnancy, and the massive miscommunication between our brain and body that we have felt postpartum. Not spoken to enough is our pelvic floor after pregnancy and birth; we go there! The mind and body connection is explored today as well as how we now feel sexually.

What we will say is that we know the human body is incredible. This episode is not about disrespecting our bodies. We fully respect our bodies, more so since having children. We have found a new appreciation for what our bodies can do, where our bodies are at and we are a lot more loving towards our vessel. The change is however, a lot to navigate.

Come with us for this chat and get in touch if this episode spoke to you.

Please follow, rate and review. We are excited to get into more ears and hearts and this really helps.

  • 13: Is It Time For A TV Detox?
    Sep 30 2024

Welcome back to A Hot Minute With Us. We are so glad you are here.
Today we dive into Rach's experiment with turning that black box on the wall off; the TV. She chats about how it has impacted her parenting, her family dynamic and what opportunities it has now opened. The outcome has been incredibly positive for many reasons.

We chat about what has been lost since TV's have come into our lives; more so paid TV where we can choose whatever we want to watch whenever we want. This is at a cost of human connection. Hannah shares what it is like to live without a TV by choice. It has been over 5 years now. Yes, she does not have a TV in her home!

This isn't a chat about trying to convince anyone to delete their TV. This is an open chat about our experience with Rach's reset of no TV and Hannah living without one.

Please follow, rate and review. We are excited to get into more ears and hearts and this really helps.
