For single moms it can be extremely hard to find the time, money and resources in order to start or finish a higher education. According to the Stanford Social Innovation Review 1.7 million single moms are enrolled in college but only 8% graduate and get a degree. 

Megan McLindon knew that struggle personally, and realized how an education could be life changing for her and her kids. So in 2020 she started Mom ofKinds. 

Mom ofKinds is an organization that provides single moms with financial assistance and community support to complete a college education. We were able to sit down with Megan in her home and discuss this organization. 

Some of our conversation highlights include: easing the nonprofit burden by going one step at a time, stating your needs out loud, and deciding what passion to follow by focusing on what keeps you up at night.
