About this listen

The seemingly endless war was at last coming to a conclusion. But for the country and for the Adams family, there were still many tribulations to be overcome. Flying bombs - the deadly V1 buzzbombs - appeared over London, causing dreadful destruction. The struggle continued to overcome the most powerful war machine the world had ever known.

But amongst the Cockney community there were lighter moments, too. For Felicity, Eloise and Lizzy there was the happiness of knowing that their menfolk were safe and well. Daniel Adams and his American girlfriend even had a brief meeting with Winston Churchill himself. And as the Third Reich began to show signs of collapse, the scent of victory was in the air.

Fantastic and hilarious

The Adams Family Saga books are a wonderful listen. Mary Jane Staples has a wonderful sense of humour, made me laugh out loud! Made all the better for Annie Aldington narrating, no one could do it better. I hope she continues with this series. I can't wait for the rest to arrive!

Superb Series

I’m a 68 year old who has been a sci fi fan all my life. So I don’t expect I am the predicted audience for this series but I am absolutely loving it
Beautifully written three dimensional characters and superb narration by Annie Aldington.

Another excellent chapter

In the life of the Addams family. Such likeable characters and excellent narration. And to think I almost sent back the first book and didn’t continue with the series. I’m so glad I didn’t.

Coca Cola

I am enjoying this series & learning more about the war but I Googled Coke in cans & it was only put in cans in the US in the 1960s.
Patsie irritates me, she seems to wine "Daniel" every phrase.
