Summary

Eisenmenger has reluctantly taken a job as a locum in the pathology department of St Christopher's Hospital - his partner Helena is pregnant and they must prepare financially for the baby's arrival.

John doesn't relish the prospect of being back on the treadmill, working within the NHS again, but when he is unwilling to accept his boss' "death from natural causes" diagnosis after autopsies on various bodies, his professional suspicions are piqued.

He goes to his old friend DI Beverley Wharton with his concerns. All paths seem to lead to Atopia, a private clinic for the treatment of allergies run by a Dr Adam Dreifus - whose wife has just been found dead...

Fast moving, and easy to follow

I really enjoyed this book and will look for more by Keith McCarthy. The plot was interesting - but not so convoluted that one would get lost in the story - I liked the personalities involved, the plot was well constructed and well written.

The icing on the cake was Sean Barrett's reading, he has a lovely voice, gives his characters different voices, I think he is one of my favourite narrators.

The perfect thriller

What made the experience of listening to With a Passion Put to Use the most enjoyable?

The book is brilliantly written with Keith McCarthy's clever and often darkly funny turn of [hrase adding to the pleasure of a well place thriller. Sean Barrett's performance is superb, his ability to interpret the story and the characters is faultless.

What other book might you compare With a Passion Put to Use to, and why?

I wouldn't

Have you listened to any of Seán Barrett’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Sean Barrett is always, in my opinion, superb.

another thrilling performance.

Keith McCarthy and Sean Barrett are an amazingly good amalgamation of good writing and good narration. Sean imparts humour, seriousness, depth and more into Keith's brilliance. going on to the next book now. bye, bye.

With a Passion Put to Use - another complex thriller

With a Passion Put to Use - another complex thriller
These books have so much going on pathology, law & the police, as well as the twists & turns that keep you listening
Narration is brill as ever but not even the grist Sean Barrett gets a 5 star off me, I am mean with my scoring.
