Where The Lost Wonder
Loved this story. Narration was very good, enjoyed both male and female voices. Enjoyed Naomi and John’s tale and all the characters in this story, especially little Web.

Amazing book and great narration
Loved the story! Exactly what I was looking for (romance on the western trail) but with a depth that makes it stand out from other similar books. I loved the female character & her relationship with her mom and her family. The backstory of the male character was very well woven. It was also a very good audiobook with great narrators.

Another brilliant novel from Amy Harmon! I found it hard to put down, it was so gripping. The only negative for me was Lauren Ezzo's attempt at a male voice. Shaun's narration was perfect for the part.

Finishing this story is like a bereavement
I was hooked from start to finish. Strong lead characters with such great descriptions of the plains I felt I was on the journey with them! What’s more a love story too. Does literature get better than this!

Beautifully written character driven historical fiction

I do enjoy this author with her beautifully written historical fiction, this one a love story set on the Oregon trail 1853. This is unintentionally my 3rd book about waggon trains recently.
The story is inspired by real people who are discussed by the author in her notes.
Naomi finds herself widowed at 20, she forms an instant connection with John Lowry junior. He is dual heritage so struggles to fit in with either community, but at the same time can communicate with both sides as a peace keeper.
It gives a realistic look at both the harshness of life of the waggon trail and the simple but harsh life of the native Americans with the inter tribal battles as well as those against the encroaching people and the Army. It doesn’t pick sides, which I liked, showing there was much wrong doing by various parties. The Mormons get a brief mention in this book, this aspect is covered in much further depth by Noelle W Ihli in Non Left to Tell. The Other book is One For The Blackbird one For The Crow Oliver Hawker.
I really enjoyed this character driven story.
