About this listen
In Visualization for Weight Loss, Jon Gabriel expands on the most talked about tool in his best-selling book, The Gabriel Method: visualization. This powerful technique helped Jon drop 220 pounds without dieting or deprivation, because it didn't depend on calorie counting or extreme exercise - rather it changed his biochemistry and neural pathways. In turn this helped lower stress and its associated inflammatory chemicals in his body, allowing him to lose weight easily and naturally.
Examining the importance of visualizing for weight loss, Jon takes listeners through the latest research on the power of the mind in order to show why this technique works. And then he lays out concrete, unintimidating advice about how to implement visualization into their lives. In addition to teaching listeners how to move into the most powerful brain state for enacting change, Jon includes visualizations to help listeners:
- Overcome disempowering beliefs surrounding food and weight loss
- Melt away stress
- Conquer fears of losing weight
- Rediscover the joy of movement
- Create healthy new habits
- Kill food cravings and addictions
- Achieve better sleep
Jon not only provides listeners with these visualizations but also teaches them how to create their own personalized visualizations that can be even more powerful. He then presents a four-month visualization strategy that can be easily included in anyone's life - no matter what time constraints they face.
As Jon found on his journey, the biggest challenge in weight loss is not finding the perfect diet or the perfect exercise routine; the biggest challenge is convincing your brain that your body needs to be thin.

Inspired
Loved this and believe it. Visualising works. I've been doing the night time visualisation for a week and my food desires are changing already and I'm getting great sleep. Will definitely be making this my way of life.

I’m gonna try
I’ve listened to the book and am about to listen again. I’m also going to start visualising. I think it’s important to listen to it once then try and the useful tips come out through the book

A great approach to weight loss
I really enjoyed listening to this audio, Jon has a very interesting approach to weight loss that makes sense , he seems to have a huge amount of research done on this subject and is living proof of this method of weight loss.

horrible narrating
Struggled to listen to it. Narrating very fast and monotone. The first audio book I did not enjoy listening to.

author, please read. I loved it. Why only 3 stars?
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Yes. I agree with everything the author says
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
1. Rather than visualisation exercises randomly placed throughout the book, having them also at the end. 2. Make relevant visualisations together and in sequence rather than being broken up throughout the book. For example, the author launches in to visualisations to use once in 'smart mode' several chapters after giving the smart mode visualisation method and says you should bookmark and record them or download them from his website. Should I really need to do this? What is the purpose in buying an audiobook if I then need to record sections of it in order to gain the full benefit of it. When purchasing an audiobook this should be provided for you.3. A PDF companion. I don't recall the website you referred to for the free downloads, I was listening to an audiobook so that my hands were free for other tasks so I didn't have a pen to hand. I now find myself having to listen to the whole book again just to get the website addresses for something you should have included in the audiobook. 4. Please make this a complete solution rather than doing what all other bloggers and authors are doing - providing people with half a of solution in order to get people to sign up to your website/blog/healthy forever programme.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes
Do you think Visualization for Weight Loss needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes. It needs a free to download update to cover the points raised above
Any additional comments?
I loved the content of this book. I rarely write reviews but I think you (the author) have an important message to give to people and I just wish you had done it in such a way that was more accessible. If you address these points above I bet you would double your sales.

I feel cheated it’s not the complete book 😞😡😞
I enjoyed listening to this book but was more than annoyed that it doesn’t contain all the appendices that the kindle and hard copy contains.

Waste of Time
What a disappointment! I searched the entire audio book for at least one visualization exercise, and there wasn't even one. The entire audio book consists of the author expounding on the theoretical benefits of visualization, and how cleverly designed his visualization program is (which we never actually get to experience). This is nothing more than a 4-hour sales pitch.
