About this listen
The shocking first true account from one of the young girls who lived through and survived the Rotherham sex abuse scandal.
In the summer of 2014, the Rotherham sex abuse scandal sent shockwaves through the nation. A report revealed that, since the 1990s, up to 1,400 young girls in the town had been regularly abused by sex gangs, predominantly comprised of Pakistani men. As the media descended on the small Yorkshire town, Sarah Wilson watched with horror and relief as her voice was finally heard after years of abuse.
Sarah was just eleven years old when she was befriended by a group of older men. Bullied at school, naive and vulnerable, the gifts and attention they lavished on her were what she craved, she just wanted to belong. But soon she was hooked on alcohol and drugs, and then they owned her. She was just twelve years old when she was bundled into a car by a man in his thirties and forced to have sex with him. Soon, the gang were driving her to places where she was raped by scores of men.
Falling through the system, from social services to school, no-one was able to help her. She ‘escaped’ when she became too old for the men at nearly sixteen.
Finally a victim of the Rotherham scandal tells her story in the hope that other young girls will not fall prey to the same evil that she endured.

Interesting
Horrendous story, I was aware of these crimes as they were seen on a BBC documentary, I truly wish the author the very best & trust that she is able to get intense therapy.

Could not turn off. Very sad and shows an emotional side of a victim. Heart breaking at points.

Violated
This book was a difficult read, but once I started I knew I had to finish it. Sarah Wilson is an amazingly brave young lady who has been through so much trauma and tragedy at such a young age. Despite her dreadful experiences, she survived and has written this book which describes how she was the victim of grooming at a very young age. The failures of the police, social services and various other agencies is shocking. I would recommend this book, but would say that it will take you in an emotional rollercoaster but this is nothing compared to Sarah's experiences.

Amazing lady ❤
where can anyone start with this.Absolutley horrified to hear first hand what was going off in my home town .How terrible for a child to be pulled in to such a horrible situation & to be groomed by sick perverted men. Nobody should have to ever endure something as so discusting as this. What an amazing & inspiring young lady to have lost so much & the pain she & others endured but in other ways to have gained so much more.Just a totally amazing person!

Amazing testimony! Amazing woman!
WOW what an amazing testimony listened to it all in 24hrs I was hooked! God bless this lady and her family, everything she and the other brave girls went through its amazing they're still here to tell their stories just so horrific what happened to Sarah's sister Laura though poor girl it's high time these predators in these pedo rings from certain backgrounds get dealt with PROPERLY and any that moved here should be extradited back to where they're from if they commit any crime especially these evil demonic crimes makes me sick to my stomach! Thank u so much Sarah for sharing ur story I have to say I went through ALOT of what u did not to the same extent though but hearing this makes me realise the same as u did I was a child they were not my friends and they were not my boyfriend they were beasts I absolutely admire u and the other girls for speaking out I pray u have or will find peace wherever that maybe for u and Ur family. God bless in in Jesus Mighty name 🙏❤️🏴

sad story of vulnerable children.
Narrated very well, found this story very sad. And wondered how a parent of such a young child did not have any idea what was going on in her child's life.

Harrowing listening.
Sarah told her heartbreaking story with such total honesty and I really admire her for it. It really disgusts me that these Pakistani criminals come to England, make their living and treat these young English girls with such contempt and revolting behaviour. They should all be deported after their prison sentence has been served and never allowed return again. The law is too lenient. Well done Sarah for being so strong and telling your story. Rip Laura.

Heartbreaking for what Sara and the others went through
It is not often I have problems put a book down to carry on later, but this one really had me hooked. I really feel for this girl not only for what happened to her, but to just start to get away from the groomers to then lose her sister to these sort of animals. They consider their honour more important than a young girl and mothers life. Stuff like this should be a lot harsher punishment. As for the guy who killed her sister, should have hung him. As that is not possible keep him in for life making him work for his keep or when he gets out send him and his family back to where they came from as they want to live be their own country's rules and not ours. Last but not least Sara you were not responsible for what happen to you there is no way you could have stopped it. May the rest of your life be an enjoyable one with your kids
