About this listen
Groomed and procured by a woman, raped by several men and labelled ‘one of the most abused girl in Rotherham’, now Elizabeth Harper is fighting for answers as to why so many people paid to protect our children simply turned a blind eye.
Aged just 15, lonely and bullied by her peers, Elizabeth ‘El’ Harper felt like an outcast. But then a chance encounter in the street with a friendly woman suddenly brought hope to her world. A friendship between El and this benevolent stranger blossomed, and life began to feel worth living again.
As the months passed, El grew more and more distant from her family. One day, she didn’t return home to her parents at all …
Snatched is the shocking true story of how a young girl was taken from the streets and groomed into Britain’s biggest sex-trafficking ring, all at the hands of a woman.
It is also an inspiring account of how trauma can turn vulnerability to strength in the most extraordinary of ways.

no help for the children from social service’s and police
truly sad for the children but disgusting attitudes from the police knowing and allowing this to happen to young children

Everything in all honesty
Amazing story of courage after devastating rape and abuse from the age of 15 by the Rotherham Pakistani Muslim gangs who groomed so many girls and boys from the age of 10… how this woman found the strength to fight back and how she is now helping others who have suffered the same way…. How her parents and daughter must be so so proud of her!

Wow!
Shocking how easily a young girl, from a ‘normal’ loving family can be conned & manipulated by an evil woman! But even more shocking was how little the police & social services did to save a 15 yr old child from blatant abuse!

A brilliant account of a truly awful time
Well done Elizabeth for taking on the so called authors that are suppose to look after our children. I have listened to many books concerning young girls that have been groomed by these men & although most have been brought forward to pay for the crimes they have commented many are still at large. Britain on a whole is too soft with these men.
Books like these need to be in schools & talk about too help children understand the danger they can get them selves in.
Well done as well for taking the BBC on although in one way they did help they also caused a lot of trouble by someone making sure your name was not known.

Horrific....
and heart breaking storyline from start to finish. The narrator was very good at using different voices for the people in the book.

One survivor to another
WOW where to start! A victim turned survivor. Firstly to the author it was never your fault; from one survivor to another both groomed by women (albeit not the same one or area). A powerful, sad, true and twisted story of the dark side of life that some of us do see and pray everyday that no-one will ever see. 100% agree the woman is still alive a CI. The narrator was amazing. She reads with such passion and tone it’s easy to become lost in the words and think your actually listening to El telling her own story. So let down by so many authorities but such an amazing woman. A true inspiration. If you can listen to this book without crying whether having been in a similar situation or not you have a cold heart. Don’t ever apologise for being overprotective, I too have been and still am overprotective of my child and their 29 now. I will always continue to be overprotective and will not apologise for it! You’re a massive inspiration and survivor.
