quite an unconventional story

The approach in discussing non-traditional relationships is refreshingly honest and humorous. One moment I was bursting out laughing after reading part of her date disaster stories, and later I could appreciate the weightier insights into the trickiness of polyamorous relationships and other alternative structures. This mix of anecdotes and useful information made the subject accessible and appealing. I especially appreciated the chapters on communication and emotional intelligence, which had some useful advice applicable to any kind of relationship. A few of the concepts really did challenge some of my assumptions about love and partnership, but in a way that was hard to be judgmental about given the author's non-judgmental tone. Inclusions for further reading were useful.
