Superior history
I'm a big fan of this chap, Prof. Liulevicius and hope he goes on to record many more audiobooks of his lectures. He has a bright, fluent, cheerful style which makes the comprehension of a wide range of inter-related history easy and leaves you thinking about the ideas he has covered and come up with himself. Only criticism I have, is that his historical turning points are partly skewed to a Western European perspective. For instance, from the point of view of first nation Americans, the arrival of the Europeans was a cataclysmic disaster, hardly the bright new beginning it was for the people emigrating from the Old World.

Pretty good, not the best of the courses series
Was worth listening to, some good episodes. Maybe some personal biases but seemed some fairly huge moments were missed in place of others. Seemed strange to miss things like the Russian revolution and siege of Vienna as turning points in modern era but I guess it is subjective to an extent

Good but quirky
An interesting and very accessible series. But the series of 24 turning points from 1452 seems idiosyncratic. No First World War and the consequent fall of empires. No internal combustion engine and the rise of the car and personal mobility - nor of Ford and production line technology. No holocaust, no founding of Isreal, no rise of atheism and fall in religiosity, nothing on the rise of popular music.
Do listen, the series is fun and educational; but it a very personal selection of turning points, it is not THE turning points.
