Summary
Knee-deep in a swamp in the depths of the Bolivian jungle, hunting for anacondas in a pair of sandals, it occurred to George that perhaps he should have booked that all-inclusive honeymoon to the Maldives after all.
Join George and Rachel on their hilarious journey through the wilds of Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia, as they climb volcanoes, fish for piranhas, trek through the Amazon rainforest, take death-defying bus rides, sample some of the continent’s strangest delicacies, and try to get to Machu Picchu. Armed only with a basic knowledge of Spanish, small backpacks, and bags of enthusiasm, they set off together on what promised to be a life-changing adventure.

Another great listen from George
Great story. Another insight in to the author’s life experiences. Good quality audio and well performed. I’ve listened to all of George’s books and this one certainly doesn’t disappoint. If this is your first book from George then I strongly recommend ‘Free Country’ as your next.

Another Excellent book by George Mahood
Since I read Free Country I've loved all of Georges books (Free Country is still the best). Currently listening to Operation Ironman as I swim and not only is it funny it is inspiring. What a brilliant writer and a genuinely nice guy. This book is also very funny and gets top marks. Keep writing George!

Vivid atmosphere, scenery and storytelling
Brilliant story describing the adventure, culture and scenery of travelling in South America. Loved the humour from people watching observations and all the characters they meet along the way.

Very entertaining and an easy listen
The author has a good sense of humour and excels at story telling. Feels like a very honest review of travelling off the beaten track.

review
This book is short and sweet. However, the book left me wanting more...more vivid descriptions of the sights and the sounds of South America. The descriptions left a lot to be desired. Only if you have actually visited these places would have any idea what the writer is actually talking about. Overall, it was a little disappointing. I didn't feel like I had been transported by the writer to this exciting continent.
