About this listen
When Helsing XII, the latest in the long and illustrious line of brave demon-hunters dies in combat, no-one would have expected his ring of power to be handed down to an idiot.
Least of all said idiot; Brian Trelawney, the most hapless car salesman in the whole of Cornwall.
With no redeeming features bar his towering height, Brian finds himself thrust into a strange and often terrifying world of vampires, banshees and all other Things That Go Bump In The Night. Trained, after a fashion, by the eccentric Masters, and equipped with strange weapons, Brian is sent into battle as the unwitting savior of mankind.
Accompanied by his friend Neil, a man oddly enough far more appropriate for the role of Helsing, Brian must bumble his way through his first mission; placating a terrifying banshee whose keening wailing is keeping the residents of Bodmin from their beauty sleep.
Warning: This book contains copious harsh language and mind-numbing stupidity, all wrapped up in a crunchy supernatural shell.

Fantastic story line
Really enjoyed the story line, can’t wait to hear the next chapter in Brian’s new career. Would recommend anyone give it a listen.

Stupidly hilarious
Or hilariously stupid? Either way this book made me laugh out loud so many times, I particularly enjoyed the journey to work on the moped, waiting to exit at a junction, 'Car, car, another car' ... that's pretty much all of us, and the bad language (of which there is a lot) is typical of the inside of my car every time I try to drive anywhere, along with the swiss cheese roads, who can not commiserate on those?
Brian is an unlikely hero at best, an idiot generally by his own admission, but he gets the job done and now he's in the position there's no backing out anyway.
Great narration, great story. LOVED it.
More please.
Oh, and I was lucky enough to receive my copy free of charge in exchange for my honest review which is precisely what you see above. I really did love this.

Kevin and Perry vibe.
This book is excellent, in fact all the Helsing books are by Gareth Pengelly. however I really do recommend you read them before you listen to the audible, because I didn't get a Kevin and Perry vibe when reading them.
Personally the narrator does ok, but I would have preferred someone like Chris barrie. because theirs stupid and then theirs Kevin and Perry stupid.
