Epic story
For me, the story was spoiled by the weird pronunciations used by the narrator. It took a while to get used to his melodramatic style, but two words, ‘ferwerd’ (forward) and ‘warship’ (worship) really began to grate as I spent far too long trying to work out why the heck he was doing it and listening for more! I liked the characters and the weaving storylines, but for me the narrator took something from it. It’s a shame.

A tried and tested winning formula. but deeply emersion.
partly due to the voice of Adam gold.

Good story, annoying narrator
It was a bit of a slow start and this could be a rounded up 4 but it was worth listening to. Some good characters in here and some influences from Sanderson and Abercrombie. There were a few times it surprised me and I'm looking forward to getting the hardback, I think I'll enjoy reading it myself so I don't have to listen to this narrator!
The problem with the narrator is how much he mispronounced, it was like he was deliberately putting long vowels where they shouldn't be. He was also overly dramatic and many of his lower voices were obviously pitch shifted. His pacing was pretty good though and his character that weren't pitch shifted were pretty good. The recording quality was good too.
I wish the review system was out of 10, this is a pretty solid 7 story wise but I don't think it's worth a full 4.
