About this listen
Kate thought finding the puzzle box would give her all the answers—but it only holds far more desperate questions.
Kate is a Keeper—a storyteller, magic-wielder, and researcher—but a single mystery has evaded her all her life: What happened on the tragic day when two strangers stole not only the puzzle box that hummed with magic but so much more?
She and her brother Bo have searched for twenty years with no luck. Until Venn, a surly elf, shows up on the hidden doorstep of the Keepers' Stronghold with that same aenigma box—and a message that Bo has disappeared.
Kate needs a guide back to Venn's homeland to search for him, and Venn needs to find him for reasons of her own. Reasons she refuses to explain. Despite their mutual distrust, Kate and Venn form a grudging alliance.
Somewhere in the midst of infiltrating dwarven tunnels, discovering the secrets of the aenigma box, and stumbling onto shocking ancient relics, the alliance shifts to friendship.
As the search for Bo grows increasingly dangerous, they uncover a complex plot woven through centuries, devastating not just individuals but entire empires. Even working together, the inexplicable forces standing against them may be too much.
Half treasure hunt and half rescue mission, this epic fantasy adventure is a tale of puzzles, mysteries, and the kinds of friendships—both old and new—that shape the soul.

I have read the ‘keeper chronicles’ and the ‘keeper origins’. I love these books and this start to a new keeper adventure does not disappoint!!
Great story, likeable characters, good twists nothing to let it down at all. Narration is great also!!

great story well read
J Andrews has crafted a well built world, with characters I have come to care about. I have listened to the Keeper Origins, Keeper Chronicles , and now this start to her latest troligy. Kate Reading reads these stories beautifully and is perfectly matched to these books. I am now a fan of both of them.

Another wonderful journey
These books have become among my favorites from the first to the most recent therenare few books I enjoy more.
Thr way the characters are built is so vivid and you reach the end of each longing for another journey with the Keepers.
Also, they have been producing without the need for salacious content which means my 14 yr old can listen to them with me.

Can't wait for the next one.
Amazing story, well written and totally believable and likeable characters.
Once started couldn't stop it kept my attention and I wasn't tempted to skip any of it just to get to the end.
I had that feeling of sadness when a good book finishes and I can't wait for the next one.

Another wonderful Keeper tale!
I really enjoyed part 1 of Runelight. The story is totally in keeping with the other Keeper tales. Full of magic but not too much to appear stupid or forced. Full of great characters who you come to like and care about. JA Andrews is a wonderful author and this book is wonderfully read by Kate Reading.
If you haven’t listened to any of the Keeper books then I recommend you do.
Looking forward to part 2.

Reader pulls it down
Kate Reading used to be a favourite reader of mine, but I now realise I probably wasn't aware of her weak points while she paired up with M Kramer in the Stormlight series. Here, the spotlight is 100% on her as she is the only reader. This sadly also highlighted her weaknesses. I found her delivery so incredibly boring - no variety between the characters - that I had to give up on this book. I can't quite decide if this is because the book itself is boring, but I doubt it - I think a good reader could make even a boring book sound interesting. J A Andrews had a different, male reader for one of her other books in this series, who was about a million times better. I'm really stunned she didn't use him again. I'm sorry to say this book ruined my faith in both K Reading and JA Andrews - will not be trying any more of this combination.
