About this listen
Four hundred years ago, my ancestor led an uprising against the Witch’s Council.
And failed miserably.
Now her descendants and those of her supporters must serve as Wardens to help protect witch-kind, though we’re relegated to being second best and the first ones thrown into danger. The Disgraced, as we’re called, are meant to suck it up and be grateful.
But there’s too much of my ancestor in me to bow to any witch, no matter that I’m Disgraced and an omega. When I enroll in war college to learn to do my duty as a Disgraced Warden and witch omega, I have a feeling that I’m not going to be very popular with my superiors. Let alone any other alphas that cross my path.
To make things worse for everyone an old enemy has returned to hunt us, and whispers of unrest are circulating like the witch plague.
I may be Disgraced, an omega, and the last of my line, but I’m not going to just roll over and accept my fate. Not for the council, a coven, or anyone else.
The Sight of Flames is the first in the Disgraced Magic series. It’s a witchy omegaverse RH/poly romance where the main character and her coven never have to choose.

Good
I’m not going to lie I got a bit lost with this book. There are so many characters that are introduced in a short space of time I kinda lost who was who. The book is great and it has a gripping storyline. The performance is brilliant.

Exciting new world
First book from this author for me, and I'm hooked! Sen is snarky and angry at the world, but I love how she slowly gathers her guys around her and builds her found family. This is a medium to slow burn, but once it gets going, there're some hot scenes. The book is completely unputdownable and Allyson Voller does a great job narrating the audio version. The mystery of what's going on around Sen and the guys keep building, and there's a bit of a cliffy, but even without it, I just can't wait for the next installment in Disgraced Magic. Love it!

Audiobook obsession reviewer, flock reviewer
With this being the first book in the Series i was concerned that it would be too drawn out however that was not the case. It is full of adventure and excitement and characters that are just wonderfully written.
The narration adds so much more to the story as well each characters personality was brought out by the narrator so well. I am so excited to see where this is going.

Enjoyed it
The Sight of Flames is a highly entertaining tale that had me hooked from start to finish. It was a paranormal fantasy that gave us omega verse, why choose, fated mates tropes and it was a good start to the series. The FMC was from a disgraced ancestral line and I loved that she did not cower and allow herself to be bullied. In addition I loved that she defended other disgraced witches from bullies.
I loved that this story gave us a slightly different take on the omega verse and I can't wait to see how it all plays out considering our FMC is an omega and refuses to give up control of her coven to an alpha. The story was easy to read and action packed and it all ends in a cliff hanger leaving me anxious for book 2. I enjoyed it and I would highly recommend it to lovers of paranormal fantasy.
I listened to the audiobook version of this novel and I loved it. The narrator Allyson Voller did a fantastic job with the characters giving them each their own voice and emotions and really brought out each character's personality. The narration was clear and easy to understand and it was a pleasure listening to her narrate this novel.

How fun!
I didn’t expect to like this book as throughly as I did - I binged this in just under two days! It was hard to put down, and I felt almost compelled to keep listening, to discover more secrets and unravel all these mysterious events.
The romance was beautifully intense in the best possible way. I have no doubt if I were to meet them in real life, we would have a blast. Real developed characters, call for a review. This book is a must buy, and instant click. The cover is stunning, and so is the story.
This was true escapism at its finest.

🔥 academy style
This book is a 🔥academy style book. You the normal classes, friends, bullies, popular, outcast scenarios you would expect from a academy book but you also get plenty of 🔥 to go with it. Add magical powers and missions with it and you for a great book you want to keep listening to!

A Witchy Omegaverse RH/Poly Romance
The Sight of Flames by AJ Merlin is a witchy omegaverse RH/poly romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Allyson Voller. This is the first book in the Disgraced Magic series.
I was pulled in from the first chapter and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed how the book was told from only Arsena's point of view.
I can't wait for the next book in the series to be announced so I can get more of Arsena and her coven.
Allyson did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.
I would recommend this book if you like omegaverse romances, reverse harem romances, poly romances, or paranormal romances.

My Thoughts on The Sight of Flames
This was not only a good series starter, but also a really good book in general. I thought I knew what I was getting from the synopsis, but I got so much more. Arsena aka Sen was a fantastic leading lady. She had a rough childhood in a lot of ways, and most of it was because of her family being “Disgraced”. But as the story unfolded and I learned more about the history of this fictional world and the events that lead Sen to where she was, I got more and more drawn in. By the end I not only loved the story so far, but also the characters and I cannot wait for the next book to come out.
The narrator did a great job. She did have a lot of characters to voice and I think she did pretty well with trying to keep their tones different. Overall, I just enjoyed her performance though as well as the story she told.
