Summary
The first three books in the best-selling Witches of Half Moon Bay series. Action-packed urban fantasy with a heavy dose of paranormal romance. Witches, werewolves, and WTF.
I’m what you call normal by day, and woo-woo by night.
As a college student, I spend my days in class and my evenings selling sage to PTA moms who do moon rituals to manifest better parking spaces. My best friend is a cat who likes pizza, and a “night out” includes hand delivering mysterious packages to the local “coven” of small business owners who repeatedly invite me to their meetings - clothing optional.
My life is weird. But it’s not magic. Magic isn’t real. At least, that’s what I believed - right up until the moment he walks into my store.
Alex Channing is rude, brutish, and a constant pain in my ass. He’s also the hottest specimen I’ve ever seen. Maybe that’s why words fail me in his presence. Or maybe it’s the pinging feeling in my gut that says he’s more than what he seems.
But when he miraculously saves me from certain death, at the hand of a monster whose very existence shouldn’t even be possible, I’m forced to reconsider what’s real.
My denial is strong, but the reality of who - and what - Alex really is can’t be ignored. Neither can the existence of the monsters who hunt me. The truth is magic is real. And the only thing I’m more in danger of losing than my life - is my heart.
Get hooked on werewolves and witches in a way you've never heard them before! This set contains the first three books in the best-selling Witches of Half Moon Bay series. Follow Sam and Alex on their journey through the world of witches, werewolves, and wtf!

not for me.
Would have loved to have listened longer to see if I could enjoy the story but the narrator drove me nuts. The voices the narrator uses for the characters, in my opinion, absolutely dreadful and extremely irritating.

I actually listened to this box set twice
Books 1-3 are free and 4-6 not, so I refreshed my memory by listening to 1-3 again before deciding whether to purchase the following box set. I rarely do that, even if it's been years past because I hate knowing what's going to happen. I actually enjoyed both listens. The story has the usual romance rought with plenty of problems past and current. There's humour with the lifestyle of one of the elder witches, tension when the wicked one amongst them is revealed, lost friendship and of course the werewolves. I did mostly enjoy listening to Kelly Pruner narrate apart from Brittany's voice which was perfect for her but the whine hurt my ears at times. Also the male voices sounded very samey to me which sometimes kinda ruined it. However I am aware that it's not easy for a female to have a range of male voices, I know I don't and I'm about to purchase books 4-6 so she obviously hasn't put me off.

Narrator kind of spoiled a good story
The premise of the story was good if poorly executed, overall the narrators heavy use of accents and unfortunately the echo chamber quality of the recording meant the story was lost in the cringe

Book 1-3
This is the first boxset in this series and there is another 3 Book boxset after this. These books focuses on Sam trying to recover her lost memories, finding out about the supernatural world and the much bigger story of what is happening and where she fits in it, while also following Alex and his story. With witch's, ware wolves and hunter's it has good potential. I enjoyed listening to the story and following the relationships between all the characters. The only thing that would make it better would have been having a male and female narrators which could be done with the different chapters as it split between following Sam or Alex more. Really looking forward to the next boxset to find out what happens next.

3 books with more to come!
Book 1 gives us an interesting back story. It took a little bit to get into because in the audio Sam and Alex’s voices sound very similar, but once I got into it I really enjoyed the story .
Book 2 gives us more romance, some answers we’ve been looking for and of course more questions!! Book 3 is in my future!!
Book 3 tears at me more than the others. The price was one I’m not a fan of so dragged my interest a bit. You see character growth in some of the characters and are left with a cliffhanger I never saw coming!

What’s going on here?
I’m 5 chapters in and I have no idea what is going on with these characters.
There’s a big difference between an air of mystery and not making any sense.
The only plus point so far is a decent narrator.

Difficult
Difficult to get into the story. Did not realise on the opening chapter that Alex was a man.

Good but cringe
I liked the story and everything. But the voices of the main character Sam, was painful to listen to. And the «building up» to romance was meh. Feel that the author tried to much and it was kind of cringe when Alexs feelings for Sam were described.
I did listen to all, but I did roll my eyes sometimes when I heard Sam and Alex talking to each other.

A slow start but then really good
I felt book 1 dragged a little bit, but it was very much worth sticking with as I loved books 2 and 3. The main characters were interesting, fun and well rounded, and developed nicely through the books, particularly Alex. The story, especially in books 2 and 3, had me hooked and I really want to know how things progress in the rest of the series.
My only other issue was the narrator's "out loud" voice for Sam was a bit high and whiney for me, but I got used to it and it wasn't enough to ruin the books. The rest of the voices were good and suited the characters well.
