About this listen

For a decade, Angel Salvatore has been the most powerful sorcerer and only necromancer in all the Northeast. Never one to ask permission nor apologies, he has acted with near impunity for years.

The High Council of Sorcery has come to Boston, and Angel is their target. Charged with numerous violations of practitioner laws, his freedom and family are placed in jeopardy.

If found guilty, Angel's apprentice Daniel will be imprisoned to serve out the remaining years of his apprenticeship. Isaac, his brother, is too vulnerable to be left unguarded, and Angel fears for his sanity and health. And Simeon, Elder vampire and Angel's mate, refuses to see Angel convicted under the laws of the Council and his actions to keep Angel free threaten to start a war that could destroy their world. And Angel faces the severest of punishments - the castration of his gifts.

Dealing with an impending trial, a wayward ghost, and a grave-robbing ring of thieves leaves Angel on the edge. He thinks he may have a handle on things until violence erupts across the city, and a stranger comes to town...a stranger with his own dark powers of necromancy.

Contains mature themes.

Great characters, awesome narration.

I love this series. Joel Leslie as the narrator/VA is a treat and I love a good m/m urban fantasy.
I like the fact it's set in an old (for the US) city and the lore surrounding it and Angel's family. Angel's and Simeon's relationship is warm and loving and the mutual love between all the characters and their relationships with each other is part of what makes this so good. I can't wait for the next book.

Brilliant addition to a fantastic series

I love this series, it has everything I like in an urban fantasy, plot, pace, humour and snark. All the characters are wonderfully written by the author and performed to perfection by the narrator. This series keeps getting better and better.

Fantastic

loved it. Great story with plenty to keep the reader's attention. The characters develop with every book in this series and I can't wait to start the next one. Top notch narration as usual.

Gets better and Better

When I got the first book in this series (the Necromancers Delema) I admit I read about a chapter or so then "put it down" so to speak as it did not grab me....

A few months later I tried again and bad news for the Author ... i GOT HOOKED

Now I am on book 3 which I finished in one day

the Author makes it very believable and the acerbic wit and no messing attitude of Angelus (the Necromancer of the Titles) is a joy

The humour is great and I cannot but compliment Joel Leslie on his reading often making me smile and overall good read (especially when Angelus thinks to himself that it is best not ask the question of "Dame Fontain" as to how old she is as he does not wish to loose his Manhood!!)

I'm Gay myself and have to say whilst the gay physical relationship is good but the main area of interest to me is the story.

The author I presume lives (or has lived ) in beacon hill in Boston and makes the story come alive

what more can I say except BOOK 4 HERE I COME - Even if I am having to wait until June 2020 to read it!!!
